Blake Shelton is pushing back against persistent speculation about his marriage, choosing to speak out after months of online rumors involving his marriage to Gwen Stefani. Now, addressing ongoing speculation, he is boldly speaking out against divorce rumors circulating on social media.
Shelton Shares His Perspective on Marriage Rumors
During an interview with Country Countdown USA on Saturday, January 10, “The Voice” alum Shelton responded to repeated reports suggesting the couple is headed for divorce.
He also added that the buzz has left him increasingly skeptical of what he sees online. “Starting in October, I think, or maybe November, I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up, they’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce,’” Shelton said, recalling how the rumors first began to surface.
‘I Don’t Believe Anything Anymore’
Shelton said the rumors keep changing their narrative, depending on whether the couple is seen publicly together.
“A week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store, ‘Oh, they’re back together again,’” he added. He also added that the narrative often resets during quieter moments.
Beyond gossip headlines, Shelton shared deeper concerns about how convincing altered images have become online.
“I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘that looks so real,’” he said. “But I know I don’t even own that shirt, or ‘Whose car is that?’”
He added that this daunting experience has left him wary of online content altogether. “I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean, nothing. I just don’t believe it.”
A Relationship Lived in the Public Eye

The couple tied the knot in July 2021 and have continued to collaborate creatively.
Most recently, they teamed up on the duet “Purple Irises,” which Stefani has previously said reflects vulnerability within their relationship.
Despite the rumors, Shelton’s comments suggest the speculation has little grounding in reality.
