Kelsea Ballerini Shares Message About Unexpected Endings
On February 16, Ballerini reposted a message on her Instagram Stories about leaving the Year of the Snake behind as the next Lunar New Year cycle, the Year of the Fire Horse, kicked off.
“This year asked you to shed layers you didn’t even realize you were still carrying,” the message read. “It brought endings you didn’t expect, lessons you didn’t ask for, and moments that tested your patience, strength, and faith.”
“Growth was not loud. It was uncomfortable. It was quiet. It was internal,” the message noted.
“But look at you. You’re still here. Wiser. Stronger. More aware of who you are and what you deserve,” it continued. “The Snake Year was about transformation about shedding old skins so you could step into something truer.”
The message added, “Not everything that left was meant to stay. Not everything that hurt was meant to break you.”
The singer also included a picture of her snake nail art with a message that noted, “for the final day of the year of the snake.”
Ballerini shared the message just two weeks after the news of her split with Stokes was confirmed.
Kelsea Ballerini Discusses Love Ahead of Breakup
During a February 1 interview with ET on the red carpet at the 2026 Grammys, Ballerini noted that their relationship “looked a lot more dramatic” than it actually was.
The interviewer noted, “It is okay to celebrate love. It is okay to be in love and to fight for love. I’m very happy that you and Chase decided to fight for love.”
Ballerini responded, “I feel like outwardly, it looked a lot more dramatic than it was. And that was quite the learning lesson for us.”
The singer continued, “I love him so much. We’ve been together for quite a while now and done a lot of life together and he was with me getting ready today and he’ll be with me when we wrap.”
“I love love and I believe it in it,” she added. “And I also believe so much in finding the things that make you happy and finding the things that you want to work on and figuring out, when the rubber meets the road, how to make that work.”
