“The Voice” Coach Reba McEntire will be honored for her decades of compassion at an upcoming Nashville, Tennessee, gala.
The singer and actress will take center stage at the Musicians on Call event, “Music Heals Live! A ‘Nash-ional’ Celebration,” held at The Pinnacle. She will be front and center, alongside other music leaders, for her work in bringing joy to patients.
Reba McEntire Will Receive the Golden Ukulele Award
For her many decades of showing compassion through music for Musicians on Call, Reba McEntire will receive the organization’s Golden Ukulele Award. According to a press release, the entertainer will receive the honor alongside Mitch Glazier. He is the Chairman and CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America.
A statement reads, “As a dedicated supporter of Musicians On Call, McEntire has lent her time and talent to fundraising campaigns and virtual programs that have brought joy to deserving patients and healthcare teams.” It continues, “This NASH-ional event will celebrate the transformative healing power of music, uniting leaders in music and philanthropy while honoring the volunteers and champions who make this mission possible.”
Performing at the event will be a trio of legendary country superstars. Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, and Vince Gill are all scheduled to appear.
In a statement, Pete Griffin, Musicians on Call President and CEO, writes, “This is Musicians On Call’s grandest celebration yet. And with it, we have the opportunity to showcase our national impact in our home base of Nashville, while honoring the devoted volunteers and partners who have helped us reach more than 1.25 million people with live music. It means a great deal to recognize the leadership of Reba McEntire and Mitch Glazier. Their dedication has helped bring comfort and connection to patients, families, and caregivers—and the volunteers who create moments of joy and healing.”
What is Musicians on Call?
Musicians On Call began in 1999. Its mission is to bring live music to the bedsides of more than 1.25 million patients, families, and caregivers in healthcare settings nationwide.
Reba McEntire is just one of many musicians who have supported this cause. Per the organization’s Instagram page, celebrities and noted music figures such as Noah Kahn, Marshmello, Charles Esten, and Audrey McGraw are just some talented performers who have shared their music with patients.
Other celebrity performers, as seen on the organization’s website, include Pharrell, Gavin DeGraw, Darius Rucker, and Keith Urban. Kelsea Ballerini, Jason Derulo, Lady A, Lindsay Stirling, Nick Jonas, and Luke Bryan have also worked with Musicians on Call.
McEntire’s “Voice” co-star Kelly Clarkson has also been involved with this organization. Clarkson says on the website, “Being involved with Musicians On Call has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I consider it a great gift to be able to share music and bring smiles to these brave children and their loved ones. It is healing for us all, and I can’t wait to do it again!”
The Musicians on Call event takes place on May 20. Traditional tickets are not available.
