It’s no secret that television loves a reboot, and that’s certainly been the case with beloved 1990s sitcom “Full House.”
In 2016, Netflix revived the series with “Fuller House,” which reunited OG stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, along with recurring appearances from Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin and Dave Coulier.
“Fuller House” proved to be a hit with fans, and ran for five seasons before concluding in 2020.
A ‘Full House’ Return?
These days, Cameron Bure has a full schedule. Formerly a Hallmark Channel fan favorite, she’s now chief creative officer at Great American Family, where she also continues to star in movies (she’ll soon be seen in another “Ainsley McGregor Mysteries” movie for the network).
Given how much she has going on, would she be open to returning to the world of “Full House” one more time?
Speaking to Woman’s World, she provided an instant answer.
“Oh my goodness! Honestly, I would love to do the third iteration of ‘Full House,’ like ‘Fullest House’ or something. That would be the dream,” she responded.
A ‘Dream Role’
Reflecting on the role she first began playing at age 10, Cameron Bure told Women’s World how much playing DJ Tanner continues to be a part of her life.
“It’s been a dream to have been a part of a show that has a real, true legacy,” she shared.
“It’s never been off the air in over 35 years. ‘Full House’ means so much to so many people. I was on the show from [age] 10 to 18, and you never know how something’s gonna go and what it’s gonna mean to people. So when I look back, I have so much appreciation,” she continued.
“I love that I was chosen to play DJ, and then we got to continue that legacy with ‘Fuller House,’ and it’s just a huge, special part of my life that still lives on,” she added. “There’s always new fans and new generations that watch both of the shows, and it means a ton to me.”
A New Challenge
FOXCameron Bure will soon be seen competing in Fox’s “Special Forces: America’s Toughest Test.”
Competing in the series — in which celebrities undergo Special Forces training and compete in extreme physical challenges — pushed her out of her comfort zone.
“I’m glad that I did it, even though it was insane,” she told Women’s World. “I would encourage people to do the show as well if they ever got the opportunity.
As for why she decided to take on such a challenging endeavor, she replied, “I’ll tell you the same thing that I tell my kids: is if it scares you, say yes. Do it because you don’t want fear to hold you back, and when you push through those fears, no matter how small they may feel, you realize that you can do it and that you made it through. Whether you win or lose, just the fact that you got through it gives you so much courage, and courage really stacks upon courage. You realize that life has so much opportunity, and there’s so many things that you may experience if you’re just willing to say yes and push through it.”
Fans can catch Candace Cameron Bure in “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” when the fifth season premieres Thursday, September 24 on Fox.
