“Boy Meets World” star and “Dancing With the Stars” alum Danielle Fishel has never seen one iconic Disney film. And frankly, she doesn’t care to.
In a new episode of the podcast, “Pod Meets World,” the 45-year-old confessed to her co-hosts that she’s never seen “Frozen” and has no intention of ever seeing it.
Understandably, many listeners, including Will Friedle and Rider Strong, had strong feelings about Danielle Fishel’s stance. But after she explained herself, many listeners understood her point.
Danielle Fishel Never Wants to Hear ‘Let it Go’ Again
“Dancing With the Stars” alum Danielle Fishel has no qualms with Disney movies in general. But she’s not a big “Frozen” fan, and it all has to do with the film’s iconic song.
“Does Danielle need to let it go? Or is she right? THE SEASON 7 DRAFT is here and available now wherever you get your podcasts…” the official “Pod Meets World” Instagram account captioned the video.
“‘Let it Go.’ I can’t stand that song and I’m admitting it here,” Danielle Fishel adamantly declared in the video. Her co-hosts, Will Friedle and Rider Strong, expressed astonishment and disbelief.
“First of all, never seen the movie,” Danielle continued as her co-hosts declared their love for “Frozen.” “I will not, because the song ruined it for me. You couldn’t go anywhere in the world without that song playing. When that movie came out, I didn’t have a kid at the time that was the right age to watch it. So I wasn’t going to watch it and it is ruined for me!”
Will Friedle joked that Variety would pick up the story and announce that “Topanga hates ‘Frozen.'”
Fans in the comments had a mixed bag of reactions. Many agreed with Danielle Fishel’s opinion, while others fiercely defended the movie. Others found it hilarious that both Rider Strong and Will Friedle loved “Frozen” so much.
“@daniellefishel I was a child care provider when ‘Frozen’ came out and yeah I agree with you. That and Baby Shark 🙄” one fan noted in the comments.
“Who had Rider arguing FOR Frozen so passionately on their bingo card?!!!” another laughed.
“Kids everywhere went from wanting nothing but baby shark to REQUESTING @idinamenzel!!!! This was the greatest gift Disney ever gave to parents everywhere!” another listener defended the film.
The ’90s Star Wants to See Will Friedle on DWTS Next
Danielle Fishel competed on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34 and thinks one of her podcast co-hosts would be an excellent candidate for the next season.
“I do really think Will Friedle should do ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” the actress told Parade. “Mostly because he swears he cannot dance at all. He’s like, ‘I’m a terrible dancer,’ and I think that makes for the best television. And I think he has no idea how good these pros are and what they’d be able to get out of him.”
Danielle Fishel clarified and insisted she didn’t want to see her friend make a fool of himself. Rather, she thinks he would have an amazing growth arc on the show.
“I think his trajectory of where he would start to where he would finish would be so inspiring,” the actress added. “I think they could make him a decent dancer. From where he’s gonna start to where he’s gonna end is gonna be quite a difference. I would really love to see him on the show.”
“Dancing With the Stars” season 35 comes to ABC at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15 on ABC. There will be a second episode the following night on September 16.
