Adam Lambert Joins Performer Lineup for Major Event

Adam Lambert is officially on deck for one of the most glamorous nights of GRAMMY Week 2026, and fans are very here for it. The “American Idol” alum took to social media on Tuesday, January 20, to share his excitement about performing at the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year gala, which will honor none other than the iconic Mariah Carey. Yep, you read that right; Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey at a gala spotlight? It’s a pop-culture moment we didn’t know we needed.

Adam Lambert Joins a Star-Studded Lineup

“So excited to be performing at the 2026 @musicares Person of the Year gala, honoring the iconic @mariahcarey 🦋,” Lambert posted, kicking off the chatter around this already star-filled event.

This year’s gala is shaping up to be epic. Lambert will share the stage with an incredible roster of performers including Billy Porter, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Laufey, Charlie Puth, Kesha, Maggie Rogers, Teddy Swims, and Taylor Momsen. The night even opens with a special DJ set by Grammy winner Jermaine Dupri; talk about kicking off the vibes right.

Tickets are still on sale for the Friday, January 30 event at the Los Angeles Convention Center, but warning… they do cost a pretty penny (or is it nickel now!). Can’t drop that much cash on something like this? We get it. If history is any indicator, MusiCares usually shares highlights on its YouTube channel, so there’s always a chance more of us can catch the magic after it all goes down.

What Lambert Has Been Up To Lately

Let’s be real: Adam Lambert hasn’t exactly been hibernating. He’s been keeping his career vibrant and varied in the year leading up to this GRAMMYs‑adjacent gig. Of course, there’s his work with legendary rock band Queen. But after that, he had a standout turn as the Emcee in the Broadway revival of Cabaret. Lambert even brought that same energy to a few TV performances (i.e. “The Tonight Show” anyone?).

He’s also kept his charitable streak alive, recently joining an upcoming Trans Mission concert in the U.K. to support trans rights alongside artists like Wolf Alice and Sugababes. On the personal front, Lambert has been reshaping his life; selling his L.A. home, moving intentionally, and navigating post‑relationship life with positivity and grace. In short: he’s busy, thriving, and ready to bring that energy to the gala this year.

A Night to Remember

The MusiCares Person of the Year Gala is more than just an award show… it’s a celebration of artistry, impact, and the music community coming together. Honoring Mariah Carey this year means celebrating decades of influence, record-breaking hits, and unmatched vocal prowess. With Lambert on the roster, the energy is guaranteed to be electric; his voice and stage presence are the perfect complement to a night built around excellence and show-stopping performances.

Add in the rest of the lineup with powerhouse vocalists and genre-bending artists, plus the DJ magic, and it’s clear this isn’t just a gala. It’s a full-on celebration of music, talent, and legacy. According to MusiCares, past recipients of the award include The Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, and many more. That shows just how prestigious this evening is, and the performances always reflect that.

Why This Event Matters

And we can’t forget about MusiCares’ mission; it’s not just a fancy night of performances and glitz. The organization is all about supporting artists when they need it most, from healthcare to financial help, and giving back to the music community in real, meaningful ways. Sure, we’re excited to see Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, and all the other stars light up the stage, but it feels even better knowing the gala is raising awareness and funding for something that truly matters. Yep, it’s a celebration and a cause we can get behind.
