“American Idol” season 23 runner-up and budding country star John Foster is sharing some important news regarding his backing band. The singer took to Instagram on September 1 to announce that his band now has a name.
“I’m excited to share that I’ve finally decided on a name for my backing band — The Fosterin’ Country Band!” Foster captioned a pic of him and his band posing in front of their tour bus at a stop in Dunn, North Carolina.
He continued, “The word ‘foster’ means to encourage growth and development, and that’s exactly what we want to do with true country music.”
Foster went on to express his appreciation for the opportunity to have played two sold-out shows over the weekend, and signed off writing, “With gratitude, John Foster & The Fosterin’ Country Band!”
John Foster Stays Connected to His ‘Idol’ Family
Part of Foster’s amazing weekend of performing included a stop in Prestonburg, Kentucky where he reunited with fellow “Idol” alum Slater Nalley. Nalley, also a country musician, made it all the way to the top 5 on the show and released his single “Traces of You” in May.
Foster shared a pic of him and Nalley hanging out on the tour bus, captioning the photo, “We had a great time in KY! It was especially nice catching up on the bus with my Idol brother, @slaternalleymusic. He’s doing great things, and I’m proud to call him a friend!”
Other season 23 “Idol” contestants took to the comments to share their happiness at seeing the two performers together again. Kolbi Jordan wrote, “😍😍😍😍😍😍😍” and Breanna Nix chimed in with a heart, a happy-tears face, and heart hands emojis. Victor Solomon wrote, “My guys!!!!! 🔥🖤” and “American Idol” commented, “Well this just made our day.”
Foster Is Making Big Career Moves & Teasing New Music
Foster has been making great strides since “Idol” ended, including gracing the Grand Ole Opry stage an impressive three times this summer. The singer will perform at the Opry again on September 13 alongside Carrie Underwood, Mark Wills, and Shaun Cassidy. And according to the 19-year-old’s Instagram, he has even more in store for fans.
Foster posted a pic of himself in what appears to be a recording studio on September 4, giving the strong impression that he has some new music on the way. “Can y’all guess what I’m up to?” Foster teased in the caption. “Here’s a hint—it involves country music!”
