Keith Urban changed up the lyrics during a recent concert and delivered an emotional performance of the song “You’ll Think of Me.” Find out how the former “American Idol” judge switched it up after his split from Nicole Kidman.
Keith Urban Seemingly References Nicole Kidman During Performance
In a TikTok video from his October 4, 2025, show, Urban performed the song “You’ll Think of Me,” from his 2002 album “Golden Road.”
During the performance, Urban changed the lyrics, “Take your space and take your reasons” to “Take your space and your stupid [expletive] reasons.”
He added, “You shouldn’t have treated me this way.”
While some fans thought he might be expressing his anger over the recent split, many shared how Urban often performs the song with this level of emotion.
“He did this years ago when I saw him. It’s a part of the show,” one fan shared.
Others confirmed, “He sang those words in a concert before, not new” and “Yes I’ve seen him 3 times and he does it every time.”
“He’s been doing this for years! There is a live version of it that he recorded in Vegas a few years ago,” one fan noted.
“As someone who’s gone to his concerts since I was 13 (I’m 31), he’s always done this ๐คท๐ปโโ,” one person explained.
One person noted, “Yes, he has done this for years but there is a lot more grrrrr behind it now.”
Keith Urban Removes Nicole Kidman-Inspired Song from Setlist
Urban also removed a Kidman-inspired song from his tour setlist following news of the couple’s divorce.
During his October 2, 2025, concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Urban didn’t perform the song “The Fighter.” The singer collaborated with Carrie Underwood on the song for his 2016 album, “Ripcord.”
In a March 2017 interview with The Boot, Urban explained how Kidman inspired the song.
“It was just a very quick, quick song to write, because I literally thought about Nic and I and our relationship in the beginning, and some of the things we had said all went into that song,” he said.
The song lyrics include: “What if I fall? / I won’t let you fall / What if I cry? / I’ll never make you cry / And if I get scared? / I’ll hold you tighter / When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter.”
At a recent concert, Urban changed up the song lyrics to reference his guitarist, Maggie Baugh. “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player,” he sang.
