‘Big Brother’ Star Has Hilarious Reaction to Pedro Pascal’s Clean-Shaven Oscars Look

Hours after Paul Abrahamian revealed they had shaved their signature beard for the first time in 15 years, actor Pedro Pascal appeared on the red carpet at the Academy Awards on March 15 sporting a similarly clean-shaven look—prompting the “Big Brother” star to jokingly take credit.

Pascal, known for his roles in “The Last of Us” and “The Mandalorian,” walked the Oscars red carpet in a sleek black-and-white ensemble that quickly drew attention online.

The actor—who presented the Oscar for Best Production Design alongside Sigourney Weaver at Sunday night’s award show—donned a custom Chanel look featuring a crisp white tuxedo shirt, floral brooch made of silk and feathers, and tuxedo pants, according to GQ. But while his jacketless moment stood out on the red carpet, many fans noticed something else first: Pascal had ditched the facial hair he’s worn for years.

The clean-shaven appearance marked a noticeable shift for the actor, whose mustache and beard have become part of his signature look both on-screen and on the red carpet.

“My influence is crazy,” Abrahamian, the two-time “Big Brother” runner-up, wrote on X.

Abrahamian wasn’t the only one who took to social media to poke harmless fun at Pascal’s new look.

Some users joked that the Chilean-American actor had donated his mustache to Leonardo DiCaprio, whose thick facial hair made an appearance at the awards show as well.

“Pedro Pascal shaved off his mustache to give it to Leonardo DiCaprio. What a guy,” one X user wrote in a post translated from Spanish.

The mustache has long been part of Pascal’s signature look. The actor has worn the facial hair since before his breakout role as Javier Peña on “Narcos” from 2015 to 2017.

Pascal once revealed that keeping the mustache wasn’t originally his idea.

“I was doing a play before ‘Narcos’ started shooting and the boss came to see the play and he was like, ‘Keep the ‘stache.’ And I was like, ‘Okay,'” Pascal said during a 2019 interview with WIRED. “And now people are like, ‘Don’t ever get rid of your mustache. You look like my grandmother without it.'”

When Was the Last Time Pedro Pascal Shaved His Face?

In a more recent interview with LADbible, Pedro Pascal doubled down on the fact that he’s not a fan of his clean-shaven look.

“I grow such (expletive) facial hair,” Pascal said in the interview with his “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” co-star Vanessa Kirby. “But if I were to shave it all off, I really look very … I strongly disagree with a clean-shaven me.”

When asked when the last time he fully shaved was, Pascal pointed to his role in the 2020 film “Wonder Woman 1984.”

“I was so appalled by the way I looked,” he said. “I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I’ve never gone back.”

Still, Pascal admitted he would shave again if a role truly required it.

“Unless it were completely necessary,” he added. “If they had asked me to be clean-shaven for ‘Fantastic Four,’ if they had insisted on it, I would have done it.”

“the beard really was his brand 😭,” one user wrote on X.

“Bring it back,” said another.
