Candiace Dillard Bassett is looking ahead, not back — at least for now.
The former “Real Housewives of Potomac” star recently shared that she has no immediate plans to return to the Bravo series, choosing instead to focus on new opportunities in her career and personal life. Dillard Bassett joined “RHOP” in Season 3 and announced her departure following Season 8.

Speaking on her podcast, Undomesticated, on Dec. 31, Dillard Bassett addressed fan speculation about a possible comeback and made it clear that a return is not currently on her agenda.
“I do not have any plans to return to Potomac at this time,” she said. “I say that, you never know, as someone who believes firmly in never saying never. I’m not saying it will never happen. But what I am saying is, as you all are badgering and beating down my door to come back like, yesterday, I am not having those conversations.”
She added that her focus has shifted toward other projects that better align with where she is now.
“I am having conversations about other things and other projects and other ideas and other endeavors that I’m really looking forward to.”

One of those new ventures includes Season 4 of Peacock’s hit competition series “The Traitors,” where Dillard Bassett is set to appear. The new season premieres Thursday, Jan. 8, and she hinted that viewers are in for an exciting ride.
“It is going to be a really good season,” she said during the same podcast episode.
Reflecting on the experience, she spoke enthusiastically about the cast and the intensity of filming.
“I know I keep saying this, but truly, and today I had a conversation recently with one of my cast mates, and it was just so funny to relive and kind of recalibrate where we were together. And just like, the twilight zone of an experience that it was,” she explained. “And also just like reminded me of what I have always said about this cast is that we, our cast, is so awesome and so great. So I can’t wait for you guys to see it.”

Dillard Bassett has previously cited her demanding schedule as the reason for stepping away from “RHOP.” In a March 2024 interview with People, she reflected on her time with the franchise and her decision to move on.
“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth, and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” she said.
At BravoCon 2025, she also spoke candidly about navigating motherhood alongside her career as a recording artist and entrepreneur while raising her son, Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett.
“I think I’m managing it all,” she said. “I think my secret — and I don’t condone this, so don’t call me when your face breaks out — I sleep in my makeup. That’s how I make it.”
While fans continue to speculate about a potential “RHOP” return, Dillard Bassett appears content embracing the present — and the many opportunities ahead.
