Bravo’s “Southern Charm” star Shep Rose enjoyed a fun-filled Sunday when he and fellow reality TV co-stars Craig Conover and Austen Kroll attended the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York. Taking to Instagram, Rose shared photos of the golf outing with his pals, but one specific moment definitely caught fans by surprise.
Rose surprised fans by popping up alongside “Saturday Night Live’s” Colin Jost, who hosted Sunday’s festivities, during a live broadcast to celebrate his birthday. Who knew the reality star and the SNL icon were such unlikely besties?
Shep Rose Joins Colin Jost During the Ryder Cup
“Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost had a shocking guest come on his broadcast as he hosted the 2025 Ryder Cup. During a Sunday, Sept. 28 segment, Jost was joined by “Southern Charm” star Shep Rose.
Rose, who wore a shirt covered in American flags, was actually celebrating his birthday, and Jost surprised him with a very special birthday present — a full plate of breakfast food, live on air.
Rose shared the moment on Instagram, balancing a plate of eggs and sausage with a tiny candle glowing on top. As Jost told Rose that he should blow out his candle, Rose instead picked up the sausage that held the candle in place, and bit a chunk out of it, leaving the candle still lit. Jost then joked, “A fire marshal is frantically telling me to blow out the candle. We don’t have fire extinguishers anywhere near all of this…”
Before blowing out his candle, Jost made sure Rose made a wish, with the reality TV star sharing, “My wish already came true. I’m here with you my old friend.”
Fans found the encounter shocking as Rose has not typically been seen mingling with other celebrities, let alone an iconic SNL star. However, looking at Rose’s Instagram, the two have been friends for years, with photos showing the pair vacationing together with friends in 2016.
Rose Calls Season 11 of ‘Southern Charm’ a ‘Really, Really Good Season’
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Now, Rose opened up about the upcoming eleventh season of “Southern Charm.” The reality star shared that fans can expect new cast members and old ones going about their “usual shenanigans.”
He also made sure to inform fans that after 11 seasons, the show still has plenty of drama to offer. “It’s always one of those things, just like, do we have any more meat on the bone, so to speak? And it turns out we do. It’s like, it’s never-ending bone.”
He added, “It’s a really, really good season. I think it’s going to be fantastic.”
Speaking of himself in the upcoming season, Rose said that fans will see a different and more mature side to him. As fans can recall, Shep had a tough season 10 after the demise of his relationship with Miss Bahamas Sienna Evans.
“So a little bit about this season, it’s like, ‘Oh, Shep’s all grown up.’ I mean, only took me 45 years … I’m in a nice spot, and I’m very happy, and I’m tranquil,” he shared.
Fans can likely anticipate the return of “Southern Charm” season 11 later this year.
