Since her sad passing yesterday at the age of 80, while most of the tributes to the late, great country music icon Dolly Parton have come from stars within the music industry, they’ve also come from prominent figures in other areas of showbusiness.
That includes many movie actors and actresses. Anne Hathaway, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Hugh Jackman are among the Hollywood stars to have said kind words about Parton. One of the latest to have their say is Welsh actress and star of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Like many of her peers, Zeta-Jones took to social media to pay her respects to the “Jolene” and “9 to 5” singer.
Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Dolly Parton Tribute Was Short & Sweet
Catherine Zeta-Jones shared her short but sweet and hard-hitting tribute to Dolly Parton with the 6.4 million followers on her Instagram account.
The post includes a carousel of two photographs of Parton. Both pictures are black and white. In the first, Parton is playing her guitar in front of a framed picture of herself. In the second, the star is resting her guitar on her shoulder in front of a large window.
The caption on her post reads, “Dolly Parton 💗 no words really……just Dolly Parton.”
Parton’s cover of Freddy Fender’s 1974 single “Before the Next Teardrop Falls” plays over the top of the post. Fans of Parton may remember that her version, which featured on her 1996 covers album “Treasures,” also featured vocals by David Hidalgo, who sang the song’s Spanish lyrics.
The comments section of Zeta-Jones’ post is teeming with messages from her fans and followers who also mourned the loss of Parton.

An Italian follower of Zeta-Jones said, “Per noi italiani era la regina del country americano 🌹,” which translates as “For us Italians she was the queen of American country 🌹.”
Finally, another individual commented, “Oh Mrs. Dolly was the physical embodiment of love. Fly high ma’am, we will take it from here 🦋👑🩷.”
There are no public records indicating that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dolly Parton ever even met, so the Welsh actress’ tribute is further testament to the impact Parton had on the world. She really was an incredibly special human being.
