Country Star Joins Growing List of Stars Issuing Important Warning to Fans

Country star Chase Rice joined a growing list of celebrities who have warned fans about scammers impersonating him to “take advantage” of fans.

Chase Rice Sends Fans a Strong Warning

Rice sent a strong warning to his fans after a widespread scam has made his followers vulnerable.

“One of the best parts of being a musician is the connection I am able to form with you, the fans. And it pisses me off that scammers prey on that connection to take advantage of the people who support me,” Rice, 40, shared via Instagram on Thursday, January 22. “I will never reach out to you on social media to ask for money, to offer special experiences, to start a romantic relationship, or for any other purpose nor will anyone on my team or any of my family members. Anyone doing that is a scammer using a fake account and should not be trusted.”

He went on to include his “only accounts,” listing Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook, before signing off on the message.

Rice is just the latest in a growing list of celebrities who have felt compelled to warn their followers against scammers. Reese Witherspoon took to her own social media last week to share a similar message.

“There are multiple people on TikTok and Instagram impersonating me, and they go into people’s DMs, and they try to build a relationship. They try to extract personal information, plan meet-up times. I want you to know this is not me,” she said in a TikTok video shared on January 14.

She added, “It’s so upsetting that people would use my name to manipulate people…Please be careful out there, and please know I would never, never reach out to you to manipulate you or to take anything from you, okay?”

Chase Rice Is Taking a Break From Music

The “Eyes on You” artist’s message comes just days after he opened up about his reason for stepping away from touring for the first time in 13 years.

“I’ve been touring for 13 years and I’ve lived a dream far greater than I could’ve ever expected. This isn’t a goodbye thing or anything like that to be clear upfront, although it may feel like that, but I’m exhausted,” he shared via Instagram on January 7 after originally announcing his plans back in November. “I haven’t been able to be myself on stage in quite a while and really enjoy music and why I got into it in the first place.”

While he did not give a concrete timeline for his hiatus, Rice assured fans that this would be a temporary break.

“I hope we can all get together in the coming years and get back to enjoying life on the road again.”
