It’s time for a party on week 9 of “Dancing With the Stars” season 34, as the show will be celebrating 20 years of dances and show-stopping moments. The emotions will be riding high in the ballroom, especially with the return of some familiar faces, including guest judge Tom Bergeron. ABC has released some “DWTS” 2025 spoilers, including the full song and dance lineup the couples will take on during week 9 of “DWTS” season 34.
Week 9 on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ 2025
We have the “20th Birthday Party” for week 9 on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34. The night will kick off with a party-packed opening number. This performance will be choreographed by Derek Hough and will be set to a reimagined live version of the “Dancing With the Stars Theme” by Ray Chew.
This performance will not only feature current pros and members of the troupe, but also bring back six of the original pros from season 1: Alex Mazo, Ashly DelGrosso, Louis van Amstel, Jonathan Roberts, Charlotte Jorgensen, and Edyta Śliwińska.
Week 9 will also honor the beloved “DWTS” performers we have lost over the years. The touching performance will be to “Always Remember Us This Way” by Lady Gaga, and will be choreographed and performed by Ezra Sosa and Rylee Arnold.
Relay Dance Competition Returns to ‘Dancing With the Stars’
For Week 9, we are going to see the return of the Relay Dance competition, but producers are adding in a new twist.
For this competition, one couple will perform the first half of a song, which is then followed by a second couple performing the second half of the song. The “Dancing With the Stars” judges will then decide which couple won the relay, with them earning two bonus points.
The twist for season 34 will be that for the first time ever, the celebrities won’t be dancing with their professional partners for this Relay Dance. Instead, they will be joining forces with a returning Mirrorball champion to perform either a Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, or Jive.
As mentioned last week, Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas received immunity from the Relay Dance and do not have to participate. This was a result of them being on top of the leaderboard (and their cumulative judges’ scores all season). The couple will automatically receive two bonus points as part of their immunity.
20th Birthday Party Songs & Dance
For week 9, Tom Bergeron will be at the judges’ table, and the remaining seven celebrities and their professional partners will hit the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom with a new dance style. They will perform dances to songs inspired by an iconic freestyle performance from past seasons. Here is a look at the dance style and song for each couple:
- Jordan Chiles & Ezra Sosa – Cha Cha to “Get Up” by Ciara featuring Chamillionaire
- Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy – Foxtrot to “Singin’ in the Rain” by Matthew Morrison
- Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach – Argentine Tango to “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers
- Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten – Salsa to “It Takes Two” by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock
- Robert Irwin & Witney Carson – Foxtrot to “Footprints in the Sand” by Leona Lewis
- Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas – Argentine Tango to “Cell Block Tango” from “Chicago The Musical”
- Andy Richter & Emma Slater – Quickstep to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Robbie Williams
Which couple are you excited to see perform during Week 9?
“Dancing With the Stars” season 34 airs live on Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu.

Obvious favoritism towards Whitney and Mark. Obvious. That woman is so unlikeable people we HAVE GOT TO VOTE HER OFF THE SHOW
Robert. I look forward to watching his dances every week.
