Emma Slater is giving fans a scare one week before the 34th season of “Dancing with the Stars” is set to debut.
In dual posts to TikTok and Instagram, the veteran pro dancer shared a video of herself in an empty DWTS rehearsal studio. Slater did a solo spin as she looked around the room while wearing regular street clothes. She then inexplicably pointed off-camera to the side.
“Thank you #DWTS for the journey of a lifetime 🥹 you never know when your time is up so I’m gunna love it every single day,” she captioned the TikTok, which was accompanied by piano music.
Slater, 36, is partnered with comedian Andy Richter, 58, for DWTS Season 34, which is set to debut on Sept. 16 on ABC and Disney+.
Fans Reacted to Emma Slater’s DWTS Post
While it may have been a simple DWTS appreciation post, Slater’s words concerned some fans.
“Anyone else come to the comments hoping someone would explain this video because you’re not sure what’s happening?” one fan asked on Instagram.
“Did her partner have to drop out?” another asked.
“I don’t like this riddle,” a fan commented on TikTok.
“Why does this feel like a goodbye video? yet the season hasn’t even started yet,” another wanted to know.
Others noted that Slater’s Season 34 partner has already revealed he has an injury, and wondered if he may have to pull out of the competition.
“Her partner, Andy Richter, found out he needs hip replacement surgery,“ one fan wrote.
On Sept. 5, Richter told KATV he found out he needed hip surgery just after he joined the DWTS cast. “After I said yes, I found out that I need a hip replacement,” Richter admitted. “I need a new left hip. I’m doing okay. It just hurts, you know?”
“At night…lying in bed, it hurts…and I had bad knees. That just made me afraid that I was going to get injured and wouldn’t be able to finish it,” he added. “I don’t feel like I’m going to get injured. She’s taking very good care of me.”

DisneyWhen the DWTS Season 34 cast was announced, Slater posted to Instagram to describe Richter as a “legend.” “I’m so so excited for us to hit the ballroom,“ she wrote. “We have started rehearsals already, and he is sooooo much fun! Can’t wait to dance!!“
“Blessed to be back on DWTS,” she added. “Still pinching myself.”
Slater, who previously won DWTS with Rashad Jennings in 2017, told Us Weekly she was “so happy” to meet Richter. “We have the same kind of energy, like, we love to chat, love to talk, and I love to hear about all that [he has] done. It was really, really nice for me to get to know [him],” she said.
