Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert announced the birth of their daughter on Monday, January 5. It was an announcement that fans of the “Dancing with the Stars” judge and his lovely wife had been waiting for for what felt like forever.
Leading up to the announcement, the couple had shared a lot of fun pregnancy content on social media, and one day before they let their fans know they were parents, Erbert shared an important message as she reflected on her life and how 2025 was a good year. And fans spotted a major clue!
Hayley Erbert Embraces the New Year
On January 4, Erbert shared a collection of short video clips on Instagram, sharing a glimpse into her life. The footage spotlighted Erbert’s relationship with Hough, her pregnancy, trips to stunning destinations, their pets, and other aspects of her life that mean so much to her. In the caption, she shared her thoughts.
“2025 It didn’t feel right to post anything about the new year without acknowledging and honoring the last one that changed me,” she wrote. “2025 was a year of transformation. A year of shedding layers, releasing old versions of myself, and making space for all the new. I prepared my heart, body, and soul for one of the greatest changes of my life. I literally created life.”
She continued, sharing how she and Hough had ticked off some “incredible bucket list adventures” and how they were “making room for the most beautiful firsts to come.” Erbert ended her caption with a powerful message of gratitude and growth. “Thank you, 2025, for the wisdom, the growth, and the love. And most importantly, the reminders to trust that everything will unfold the way it’s supposed to,” she wrote. “Cheers to new beginnings and to a new year filled with even more magic.”

Fans also noticed an incredibly short clip (the second-to-last one in the video) of Hough appearing to rock their baby. “Derek rocking the baby with the rainbow in the background,” a comment reads. “lovely shot and so special! Congratulations.”

Anyone else see Derek and the baby?,” and “Derek with the baby and the rainbow.” The very next day, the couple officially announced the arrival of their daughter, although she had been born a week earlier.
