Hilaria Baldwin was hesitant to join “Dancing with the Stars.”
In a new interview, the mom of seven told Extra that she was unsure about signing on to the celebrity ballroom competition for its 34th season, but that her famous husband, Alec Baldwin, urged her to go for it.
“Alec has been wanting me to do this show for a long time and I’m like, ‘I have kids. Like, I can’t. I can’t do this,’” she said. “And so, they called me, and we just looked at each other and I was like, ‘Guess we’re all going to L.A.’”
Baldwin is partnered with pro dancer Gleb Savchenko for DWTS Season 34.
Hilaria Baldwin Felt Too Old For DWTS—At First
On DWTS, Baldwin, 41, will compete against several young stars, such as Olympian Jordan Chiles, 24, influencer Alix Earle, 24, and Australian zookeeper Robert Irwin,21.
Baldwin told Us Weekly that at first, she felt too old to compete on the ABC dance-off, despite her past dance experience. “[Alec’s] been wanting me to do the show for a very long time,” she said. “I was, like, I feel like I’m old and I’ve had a lot of kids. I’ve broken many bones. And I was like, ‘I can’t do this.’”
Once she signed on, she embraced her position on the cast. “I’m happy to come into it with some maturity and just have fun and enjoy every single second that I’m allowed to be here,” she said of the long-running dancing show.
Fans Met the Baldwin Family on Their Reality Show
GettyThe Baldwins have seven children together, ranging in age from 2 to 11. The couple’s kids are named Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, María, and Ilaria. In addition, the actor shares an adult daughter, Ireland, with his ex, Kim Basinger.
In early 2025, fans met the supersized family on their TLC reality show, “The Baldwins.” While filming the show, the family spent the summer at their home in East Hampton, NY.
Baldwin told Us that the temporary move to California was an “adventure” for her family. “I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m loving it, and it’s, like, we need it,” she said. “It was time for an adventure. It was time to be spontaneous and just do something that was kind of crazy, but also, like, just what an amazing environment to come into to do something crazy.”
“Dancing With the Stars” Season 34 premieres Sept. 16 on ABC.
