Lindsay Arnold is speaking out following critical comments fans made about the premiere of “Dancing With the Stars” season 34. The former dance pro fiercely defended her “DWTS” family.
Lindsay Arnold Defends ‘DWTS’ Amid Criticism
In a video Arnold shared on TikTok on September 18, she explained just what goes in to making the show, urging fans to rethink their criticisms.
“Here’s my hot take on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ premiere night … y’all are mean. The amount of videos I’ve seen starting like that and then they continue to just go on literally trashing the pros, the troupe, the hosts, the judges … I’ve seen it all,” Arnold said in the video.
“And it’s making me sick,” she noted. “Like I literally feel sick to my stomach. You understand that these are real people, right?”
Arnold continued, “This isn’t some made-up TV show, and they’re all playing their characters.”
Referencing the show “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” the former “DWTS” dance pro explained, “This is not Conrad, Belly and Jeremiah, where we can just comment on their decisions and their choices and their lives like they’re just not real people.”
She added, “These are real people, who are doing a job that literally none of you could do.”
Arnold competed on 10 seasons of “Dancing With the Stars,” winning season 25 with her partner, Jordan Fisher.
She also noted that she “would go to bat for” her sister Rylee, who is partnered with Scott Hoying on the show, “’til the day I die.”
The dancer added, “I care about all those people. That’s my family, that’s my friends. I’m coming here to say that the job of being a pro is one of the hardest ever.”
Arnold noted that, while “it’s okay to have opinions,” fans should stop “bashing and trashing.” She reminded them, “Be better.”
“Please don’t make me do another video like this defending all of my friends,” she added, asking fans to “spread a little bit more positivity” about “Dancing With the Stars.”
Rylee Arnold Shares ‘Best Piece of Advice’ Lindsay Gave Her
During a September 3 interview with People, Rylee revealed that Lindsay gave her a critical tip for success.
“The best piece of advice that I’ve ever received from Lindsay, and honestly, the best piece of advice I’ve ever been given, is to always just remain true to yourself,” the dancer shared. “Always just be yourself, authentically you, because if people don’t like you for you, then you’re not where you need to be.”
Rylee shared, “Just be yourself and that’s going to be where you’re going to be the happiest version of yourself, so always just emulate that and be that.”
She added, “It got me through everything. I love her.”
