“Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 has been one of the best seasons yet, and it’s also been incredibly popular. In the finale episode on November 25, it was announced that the top two finalists, Alix Earle and her professional dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and Robert Irwin and his professional dance partner Witney Carson, had a record-breaking amount of votes.
So, we know the interest is there, but will the ABC dance competition be back for Season 35? This is everything we know so far.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 35
“Dancing with the Stars” has not yet been renewed for Season 35. However, after 20 years and an incredible last season, it is expected to return. If everything stays the same as before, audiences can expect to tune in to two-hour episodes on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. EST. It would air on ABC and Disney+ and be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
We can predict a September 2026 premiere. That said, because there has been no confirmation, there is currently no release date. There are also no dancers, judges, new celebrity competitors, or hosts to confirm.
Still, it is good news. The season had its “biggest premiere numbers since 2020 — and then proceeded to grow its viewership for five consecutive weeks,” Vulture reports of DWTS. The publication also notes how the ratings were up this season. Plus, the show opened itself to a new audience of “Gen Z and younger millennial viewers, two demographics that had supposedly abandoned linear TV.”
Which Pros Want To Come Back?
What we do know is that some dancers have discussed their future on the show. Fans could also be in for a treat if the show decides to sign on an OG again. Louis Van Amstel shared his interest in rejoining the show in an Instagram post. “There was a side of me that said, ‘Hey, I might be OG but I ain’t done,'” he said in a video. “I want back in. I ain’t done. So if I would ever be asked to be back on this show, season 35, I would say yes in a heartbeat.”
Jan Ravnik had his debut season in Season 34, and despite harsh criticism from former DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, he has been incredibly well-liked by fans. Would he return for another shot at the Mirrorball Trophy?
“We’ll see about that,” Ravnik told People in November 2025. “We’ll see about it. It’s still a long way [away]. This is 2026. We don’t know.” He continued, “It was stressful to [be] learning everything, but now, I think because I’m already in a flow, it feels so much better. And in two weeks I’m gonna be done probably. I’m gonna be like, ‘Oh, I missed that.'”
Rylee Arnold also said she wants to be back in again for Season 35. “We don’t know if we’re gonna be on the show until the summertime,” Arnold told Julianne Hough on the “The Morning After (Show).” She continued, “I would absolutely love to do another season — if not a bunch of more seasons — in my life, if they want me there.”
