Anna Faris Discusses Working on ‘Scary Movie’
GettyOne of Faris’ most iconic roles has been as Cindy Campbell in the “Scary Movie” franchise, and it is not a part that she has grown tired of. The last time Faris starred in one of these movies was in “Scary Movie 4” in 2006. Now, two decades later, she is excited to reprise her role again.
Getty“I couldn’t believe it,” she told People in an April 2026 interview about getting to star in another “Scary Movie” film. “I couldn’t believe that there was a world where I would be feeling so good about doing ‘Scary Movies’ — not just good, great.”
She continued, “It’s a little, I wish I had a better word, but healing. We got to be back together again. And that in and of itself is, for me, a personal celebration.” This is a big deal for fans, as in recent years, Faris has not taken on as many big onscreen projects, although she has lent her voice to animations, including an episode of “Phineas and Ferb” in 2025 and as the character Ashley in “The Simpsons” in 2022, IMDb reports.
“Scary Movie 6” is also the first time brothers Marlan and Shawn have returned to the franchise since the second film. “It felt like the Wayans Brothers were casting me,” Faris told People. “And this time, I got to thank them and feel like I wasn’t gonna get fired, you know?”
