It’s been said that age is just a number, but the star of one of the hottest TV shows of the 1970s is proving that axiom to be true.
Jaclyn Smith, who portrayed crime-fighting PI Kelly Garrett alongside Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson on “Charlie’s Angels,” recently took to social media and caused jaws to drop throughout cyberspace.
Lipstick Inspiration
In a series of photos she shared via Instagram, Smith shows off her visage while wearing Sisley Paris: Malibu, a new line of lipsticks she inspired, created by her longtime makeup artist and close friend Patrick Foley.
“The king of lipsticks has done it again with another best selling shade for Sisley Paris: Malibu (shown on me in the first slide) – his third after the smash success sheer Beverly Hills 13, and the best selling follow up sheer Bel-Air 26!” she wrote in the caption.
“To my dear friend Patrick, what a privilege it’s been to be on this journey with you,” Smith added. “I’m endlessly proud of all you’ve accomplished.”
‘A Timeless Beauty’
GettyWhile the lipstick was Smith’s focus, her Instagram followers were more focused on her stunning good looks, with the 80-year-old actress looking pretty much the same as she did battling TV bad guys five decades ago.
In fact, her fans did not hesitate in sharing their praise of how stunning she looks.
“You are a timeless beauty Jaclyn!” reads on comment.
“Breathtaking at 29 or 79,” reads another.
“You are still exotic, stunning, and incredibly sexy!” wrote a follower, as another added, “She was a fox in ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ and she still is today.”
Meanwhile, another slightly cheekier comment asked for the name of her plastic surgeon and details about the fitness and facial care regimen that has kept her looking “gorgeous eternal beautiful.”
A New Memoir
Despite her 81st birthday approaching in October, Smith has demonstrated no signs of slowing down.
At the moment, she’s focusing on her latest project: her upcoming memoir, “I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie.”
As Smith said in an interview with People, writing the book was “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”
Shared Smith: “I really went to a deeper place. And wow, when you go and you talk about losses, it’s difficult. I talked about things I never thought I’d talk about, and I have a line, ‘Life is never as simple as the public version.’ So, I went behind the image — not that I haven’t been honest, but I’ve protected my family.”
Smith also opens up about her struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder, something she’d never revealed before.
“I have some of that more in the tone of magical thinking,” she explained, referencing a belief that her thoughts could influence people and occurrences. “Many people have that, so if I impart some of my experiences and it enlightens and changes, then I’m glad I’ve done the book,” she added.
“I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie” arrives in bookstores on Tuesday, September 8.
