Jennifer Lopez‘s former publicist, Rob Shuter, has shared his thoughts on how the former “American Idol” judge has been reclaiming her sense of self following her split from Ben Affleck. JLo and Ben got married in 2022, reuniting almost two decades on from when they were first together back in the 2000s. However, last year their divorce got finalized and they went their separate ways once more after three years of marriage.
What Are Rob’s Thoughts?
Rob spoke to the Daily Mail about JLo “reclaiming the narrative” and also identified himself as her publicist back in the 2000’s when she was dating Ben the first time around.
He believes Jennifer’s endless array of sexy outfits that flatter her to perfection aren’t about seeking attention, but rather about shifting conversation away from her romantic history. It brings the narrative back to the “JLo brand” and her future instead of keeping the lens focused on the past.
Rob shared: “It would be easy to dismiss all this as vanity, but that would completely miss what makes Jennifer so fascinating. She is taking back the narrative.”
Rob also noted that a Hollywood reporter who also worked with Jennifer shared with him: “Jennifer understands the celebrity machine better than almost anyone. And she knows her body is one of the most powerful assets of the JLo brand.”
A friend of Jennifer’s reportedly said something similar to the outlet, saying of her post-divorce image: “After Ben, she wanted the story to become JLo again.”

Over the last few months especially, Jennifer has been utterly spoiling her fans and followers with stunning ensembles. Just last week the star ditched her bra and sported a sexy red dress in New York City. The gorgeous gown featured a romantic balcony neckline and flaunted the singer’s age-defying assets to perfection. Thin spaghetti strap sleeves further drew attention to JLo’s glowing skin as the waist cinched her in in an almost corset-style with a drop waist.
She finished the look off with a classy light beige Saint Laurent Kate 99 Tassel clutch bag in natural raffia with gold accent details and stacks of silver and gold bracelets.
In terms of makeup Jennifer went for a dewy looks that dazzled under the dark sky as she was spotted leaving a Mediterranean restaurant for dinner. She highlighted her complexion with plenty of bronzer across her forehead and cheekbones, as well as silver shimmery highlighter.
The star also recently shared a post of herself working on her laptop in the bath. She tied her hair back in a bun to keep it out of the water, exposing more of her bare skin. Natural light streamed in through a series of huge square windows, making the room look absolutely huge and super luxurious. Penned in the post’s caption, JLo simply wrote: “Today’s office”.
