An emotional episode of “When Calls the Heart” is on the way, with young actor Hyland Goodrich embracing some difficult material. In his real life, the family of the 7-year-old recently teased something new and exciting on the horizon for him.
Hyland Goodrich Has Landed a New Project
On February 22, Goodrich’s Instagram page shared a new post. It included several new headshots, all of which showed the young Hallmark actor looking quite handsome.
The caption read, “Fresh headshots for this not-so-little guy.”
In addition, the caption teased, “he just booked an exciting new project too!”
Unfortunately, specifics about Goodrich’s new and exciting project remain under wraps for now.
“So proud of this kid — equal parts imagination, intellect, and a healthy dose of Bart Simpson-level mischief and irreverence,” the caption continued.
Up until recently, “When Calls the Heart” has been the only acting credit listed on Goodrich’s IMDb page. However, there is a reference to a project that Goodrich is filming titled “Cowboy.”
The plot of “Cowboy” revolves around a “seasoned rodeo cowboy and a young, aspiring rider.” The two “embark on a journey through the world of rodeo…while their relationship evolves from mentorship to rivalry.”
The “Cowboy” cast includes “3:10 to Yuma” and “Six Feet Under” star Ben Foster, Gabriel Basso from “The Night Agent,” and “Scary Movie” alum Simon Rex. Goodrich plays a character named Mutton Buster.
This may not be the project that was teased in Goodrich’s recent Instagram post. However, it is a sign of good things on the horizon for the young actor.
Goodrich’s Character Faces Disappointment & a Big Surprise in Episode 8 of WCTH Season 13
The next episode of “When Calls the Heart” is titled “Lost and Found Again.” This episode heavily features Goodrich, as his character takes a “trip down memory lane.”
There is a “very special surprise” on the way for LJ, which it seems will be a visit with his grandmother, Charlotte Thornton. Brooke Shields returns to “When Calls the Heart” as Charlotte for two more episodes of season 13.
“When Calls the Heart” fans are excited for Goodrich and loved his new headshots.

While Goodrich is spreading his wings with some new projects, by the sounds of things, there are not currently any signs that he plans to leave “When Calls the Heart” in the near future.
