Jack Wagner has been making ladies swoon for years as Bill Avery on “When Calls the Heart,” and years ago for his time playing Frisco Jones on “General Hospital.” He’s popped up on “The Bold and the Beautiful” over the years as well, and fans know he developed a singing career, too.
Wagner’s latest gig has just been revealed, and it’s prompted a big reaction from Hallmark fans and the actor’s WCTH colleagues.
Jack Wagner Was Eggplant on ‘The Masked Singer’
During the March 4 episode of “The Masked Singer,” it was revealed that Wagner was Eggplant. His “When Calls the Heart” colleagues were tickled by it all, and fans loved it.
A comment on “The Masked Singer” Instagram page from the Hallmark Channel page joked, “If Minnie doesn’t recruit you for the Hope Valley Choir, then we will! Well done, @jackwagnerofficial!”
“When Calls the Heart” star Andrea Brooks commented on “The Masked Singer” post with a string of hand-clapping emojis, as did the “When Calls the Heart” Instagram page.
One fan commented, “Way to go @jackwagnerofficial!!!! He acts, he golfs, he sings in an eggplant costume – what can’t he do?”
A “When Calls the Heart” fan raved, “Way to go @jackwagnerofficial Thanks for representing the #Hearties out there!” As most fans of the show know, viewers often refer to themselves as “Hearties.”
Someone else added, “I knew it was him! I had his cassettes in the 80’s! Frisco and Felicia Jones on GH was the it couple after Luke and Laura! Love to watch him on Hallmark. Too bad he couldn’t stay on Masked Singer longer!”
‘When Calls the Heart’ Stars Teased the Big Reveal
Since mid-January, many fans of “The Masked Singer” were convinced that the contestant in the Eggplant costume was Wagner.
“We know this voice anywhere!!! We love @jackwagnerofficial and that voice,” one “When Calls the Heart” fan noted on Instagram.
Another Instagram user declared, “If this isn’t Jack Wagner, I will be completely shocked!”
Ahead of the March 4 episode airing, “When Calls the Heart” star Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thornton, teased the big reveal via her Instagram Stories.
“I’ll be watching @maskedsingerfox tonight on @foxtv! #themasked singer,” she wrote. She included a photo of Eggplant, as well as an eggplant emoji.
Krakow added, “Ooooh I’d recognize these velvety vocals anywhere!”
Fellow “When Calls the Heart” star Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary Coulter, also teased the big reveal in her Instagram Stories.
After the reveal, Wagner shared a clip from “The Masked Singer” via his Instagram Stories. He wrote, “Was such a Blast to be On @MaskedSingerFox!! #MaskedSinger Thank you!!”
