Jack Wagner says his marriage works best with a little independence.
The “When Calls the Heart” star married singer and songwriter Michelle Wolf in May 2025 after more than four years of dating. While the couple remains committed to one another, they have chosen to maintain separate homes.
Wagner, who is also known as a Hallmark movie staple, discussed the arrangement in an interview with Parade.
“It’s kind of cool, you know? She has her place. I still have mine,” Wagner said. “We’re both super comfortable in our places and going back and forth, and so we’ve decided, let’s not rock the boat and sell this and sell that and try to find something.”
According to Wagner, the arrangement allows them to keep the same rhythm they developed while dating.
“So we’re kind of living the life we lived when we dated,” Wagner explained. “We take a couple nights off, and then we trade off who’s going to be where because I think we both know that the older we are, it’s nice to have a little space.”
He added that maintaining independence has worked well for both of them.
“Not too much, but it’s okay! It works,” Wagner said.
Jack Wagner and Michelle Wolf Married in 2025
Wagner and Wolf began dating in January 2021 and publicly confirmed their relationship later that year through social media posts.
The couple kept their engagement largely private before marrying in May 2025. Wolf shared the news on Instagram with photos from the ceremony.
“We did it!!!!!! MARRIED in front of our little family!!” Wolf wrote.
Wagner wore a classic black suit during the ceremony, while Wolf chose a sleeveless lace gown paired with a short veil.
Family members attended the intimate event, including Wolf’s daughter Ornella and Wagner’s son Peter, whom he shares with former wife Kristina Wagner.
Wagner also shares son Harrison with Kristina. Harrison died in June 2022 at age 27 following an accidental overdose.
The actor also met his daughter Kerry for the first time in 2011 after she had been placed for adoption at birth.
Wolf, who lives in Los Angeles, has built a career as a singer and songwriter. According to her website, she began performing as a child and later became the lead vocalist for the youth group Kids of the Century.
She traveled throughout the United States performing at festivals, including an event attended by then-President Bill Clinton along with Barbra Streisand and Dionne Warwick. Wolf also writes music for European film and television projects and sings in several languages, including German, Italian and Latin.
Jack Wagner Shares Experience Competing on ‘The Masked Singer’
In addition to his Hallmark Channel projects, Wagner recently appeared on “The Masked Singer.”
Wagner performed as the Eggplant character on the Fox competition series before being eliminated during Ozzy Osbourne Night.
During the episode, Wagner performed Linkin Park’s song “One Step Closer,” which he said required stepping outside his musical comfort zone.
“Linkin Park isn’t necessarily my wheelhouse,” Wagner said in an interview with PauseRewind reporter Courtney Tezeno after is elimination. “It was a stretch for me to one, kind of learn more about that band and really try to wrap my head around how I go about really trying to kill this song and selling it.”
He said performing inside the Eggplant costume also presented unique challenges.
“I was in this big eggplant, Mr. Potato kind of cumbersome outfit,” Wagner said. “So it was a constant adjustment of ‘how am I going to really knock this out and rock it?’”
For Wagner, however, the hardest part of appearing on the show was keeping the experience secret.
“The secret is brutal,” Wagner said. “Because we were wrapping season 13 of ‘When Calls the Heart’ and all of a sudden I’m doing ‘Masked Singer.’ So I’m going back and forth from LA to Vancouver, and the cast is like, ‘What’s happening?’”
New episodes of “When Calls the Heart” season 13 air Sunday nights on the Hallmark Channel.
