Hallmark star Nikki DeLoach has become beloved during her decade with the network. DeLoach has appeared in over 20 movies during that time, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t still experiencing career firsts. In her latest movie, “True Justice: Eye for an Eye,” she had several of them.
Nikki DeLoach Shares New Career Firsts
Taking to Instagram, DeLoach posted a carousel of photos from her time filming “True Justice: Eye for an Eye”. DeLoach shared behind-the-scenes moments with her co-stars Katherine McNamara, Markian Tarasiuk, Benjamin Ayres, and Marisa McIntyre, as well as crew members working hard on the movie.
She also posted a video of a winter storm that hit Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where the movie was filmed, during production. DeLoach’s car is covered in snow, and the parking lot was turned into a winter wonderland.
It was her caption that revealed just how special the movie was to DeLoach, and the career firsts she had making “True Justice: Eye for an Eye”.
“Lots of firsts for me throughout the making of ‘True Justice: Eye for an Eye.’ I became a snow driver. First time since 1971 that Ottawa had received that much snow. I graduated the Make Her Mark Program under the tutelage of the brilliant, hilarious and total rockstar that is Lisa Soper!!,” she wrote.
DeLoach went on to add, “I finally became a published author AND got my Ph. D. You can purchase “Legal Philosophies in Historical Context” by Nikki DeLoach, Ph. D nowhere… YET. I made new friends. Together we made a fun ride of a movie that I can’t wait for you all to see.”
The actress let fans know that “True Justice: Eye for an Eye” premieres on Hallmark on Saturday May 23.
DeLoach got some mad props from her co-stars in the comments section of her post, including from Ayres, who congratulated her on all the firsts and talked about the “crazy” snow day.
McNamara gushed over DeLoach, calling her a “fearless leader” and “role model”, while also thanking her for bringing the movie to light and creating a family for everyone involved in the project. Tarasiuk also chimed in, showing love for “our leader”.
Hallmark Star Nikki DeLoach Gets Real About Co-Writing ‘True Justice: Eye for an Eye’
“True Justice: Eye for an Eye” is a sequel to the 2024 hit Hallmark film “True Justice: Family Ties,” and DeLoach had a hand in writing the scripts for both movies. In a separate Instagram share, DeLoach got honest about being a co-writer on “True Justice: Eye for an Eye”.
DeLoach gave fans a tease of what went into her writing process with several photos featuring her and her friend, Megan McNulty, who was her co-writer on the movie.
“Writing is not easy. We bow to every writer who sits their booty in a chair, stares at a blank screen, puts fingertips to keys and gets to work. But it’s a heck of a lot easier with a best friend. Megan and I are so grateful that we were able to bring this world and these character’s back to life. Thank you so much @jsrdude @michaelbarbuto at @muse_entertainment and @caseyelizabeth3 @hallmarkchannel and @lauragainesanewname for believing in this series, in us and for all the hard work,” the Hallmark star stated.
She went on to shout out the stars in the film before issuing a sweet message to all the writers out there.
“To all who write. Whatever you are building with words— keep going. You will question everything. Write it anyway. The story chose you for a reason,” she expressed, adding, “We hope you tune in and love every second of the ride. 💫”
Last year, Deadline revealed that two sequels in the True Justice franchise were in the works, both written by DeLoach and McNulty. Along with “True Justice: Eye for an Eye”, a third installment, “True Justice: Lost Love,” has been confirmed.
DeLoach told the outlet that she was “thrilled” that she and McNulty were getting to continue on the True Justice franchise.
