Watch a ‘Sneak Peek’ Ahead of the ‘Kentucky Roses’ Premiere
“Kentucky Roses” takes place at Churchill Downs across two timelines, present day and 1932.
In the present-day, Sadie Moore (Annable) works in the Churchill Downs greenhouse. She dreams of one day becoming a florist and contributing to the Derby’s garland of roses, following in the footsteps of her great-grandmother, Gloria.
As Derby Day approaches, Sadie meets the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO, Ash Taylor (Walker), who’s been asked to do an emergency repair on one of the Twin Spires that was damaged after a storm. The pair begin to bond, but their blossoming romance is complicated by “the weight of family legacy and the desire to carve out their own paths” as well as “a long-buried connection between their families,” per the official Churchill Downs website.
The film will be premiering on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET, the same day as the 2026 Kentucky Derby, which is famously held the first Saturday in May every year at Churchill Downs.
