Melissa Peterman and Peter Porte recently headed to The View for dinner, where the incredible views of New York City are supposed to be the main attraction. But according to Peterman’s latest post on social media, Porte just couldn’t help but steal the spotlight.
The Hallmark favorite shared a sun-soaked photo of her longtime friend and fellow actor while out to dinner together, joking that he had “got in the way and ruined it.” But did he really ruin the view, or did he just become it? Judging by the comments, fans seem to be firmly in the latter camp, with one fan even comparing Porte to Prince Eric from “The Little Mermaid.”
And honestly, it’s not hard to see the resemblance.
Peterman and Porte’s friendship dates back more than a decade to the Freeform sitcom “Baby Daddy,” where Porte played Brad Walker, the charming love interest (and eventual husband) to Peterman’s character, Bonnie Wheeler. Porte is also well known to soap opera fans for portraying Ricky Williams on “The Young and the Restless” and Dimitri Von Leuschner on “Days of Our Lives.” Peterman and Porte even host “The Melissa Peter Man Podcast” together alongside comedian Chris Voth. Although they have yet to appear together for a Hallmark project, both actors have become favorites among the network’s loyal audience.
Porte ‘Accidentally’ Becomes the View at ‘The View’
“We went to The View restaurant for a rotating view of NYC. …but this guy got in the way and ruined it. @peteporte #enjoytheview #sisters @theviewny #birthday #nyc #bestie,” Peterman wrote in the caption of her Sept. 4 Instagram post.
Porte playfully responded to Peterman in the comments, writing, “Lil ol me not posing or finding my light, who knew you had a camera, not me!”
Fans in the comments were thrilled to see Bon Bon and Brad together again:

Peterman Went to NYC for a Birthday Trip With Her Sister
Peterman has been celebrating her birthday right, and making sure to take her fans along for the ride.
Before joining Porte for dinner, the actress began her NYC trip at the restaurant Jacob’s Pickles. She shared a photo of a martini that included one of their signature house-made pickles, with the hashtags “#sistersbirthdaytrip” and “#deliciousfood.”
The Peterman sisters also went to see The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Peterman wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, “can you spell E X C I T E D.”
And they had to see the Empire State Building, of course:
