Shut the front door! Every year, thousands of fans show up at events across the U.S. and Canada for the chance to meet Hallmark heartthrob Tyler Hynes. But on June 4, 2026, the “I’ll Be Seeing You” star revealed that he recently turned the tables on one lucky fan by showing up at her door with flowers, a gift, and a hug.
In the first episode of a new Instagram video series called “Hynies House Calls,” a fan named Augusta nearly fainted when she opened her front door to see Hynes standing there.
Fellow Hynies Swoon Over Seeing Augusta’s Surprise Visit From Tyler Hynes
Hynes, who has become one of Hallmark’s biggest stars since his first rom-com for the network in 2018, captured his first “house call” on his cell phone, including the moment he knocked on Augusta’s door. Her jaw dropped when she saw Hynes standing there, and she repeatedly uttered “oh my god, oh my god” as Hynes hugged her.
After handing Augusta a floral gift box and a bouquet, not even realizing that it was her 60th birthday until she told him, Hynes stepped inside her front door and filmed her saying she was “shaking” before she called out to a loved one to come up from the basement.
“Rosa, come on up here for a minute ’cause you’re not gonna believe this,” she said. “Nobody is going to believe this!”
Fans flooded the comment section of Hynes’ video post, thrilled for Augusta and hoping they might be next on the “Three Wisest Men” star’s list of “Hynies House Calls,” with many adorably inviting him to their cities.
One fan wrote, “I was literally jumping up & down for her watching this!!! You Sir – a true gem 💎 in this much needed world 🙌 Holy snikies 😮😍 #kindnessismagic”
Another gushed, “Only you would do something this incredibly AMAZING!!!! Your heart has no limit to how HUGE it is!! 🤍🌹(Pittsburgh’s not that far from Toronto… if you want to give your new car a long test drive) 😂”
“How is it even possible?!” someone else commented. “You’re already at Legendary status, yet you keep finding ways to raise the bar, then soar right past it!! 👑🍑 You sir, are a PEACH! 🤍✨️ **cough cough Winnipeg ** Best present EVER, hey Augusta?!! 🎁😘”
Tyler Hynes Pulled Off His Stunt in a Lucid Gravity
Hynes showed up at Augusta’s house in a white Lucid Gravity electric car, recently provided to him by the company to zip around his hometown of Toronto (he also took his mom for a joy ride in the swanky vehicle earlier in the month).
Hynes revealed his beloved pup, Rusty (who has his own fan page, by the way), was along for the ride as he hit a button for “Creature Comfort Mode,” a climate function that Lucid says “keeps your pets comfortable and lets passersby know they’re safe while you’re away.”
In the video, Hynes told fans, “I was asked to do something with this electric vehicle and I thought, ‘Might as well do the one thing I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time.”
The company wrote in the post’s comment section, “Surprising Augusta in style and keeping the pup comfortable. Honored to be supporting cast in this feel good series⚡️”
Tyler Hynes Describes Hynies as ‘Rare & Beautiful’ People
HallmarkThe ever-growing fandom known as the Hynies is deeply devoted to the actor, but they also love connecting with each other. In fact, a documentary about them is in production, planned for a 2027 release, and narrated by Hynes’ Hallmark pal Jonathan Bennett.
In the comment section of his Hynise House Call video, Bennett gave Hynes the highest praise, simply writing, “The 🐐”
To caption the video, Hynes hilariously explained his fandom’s nickname as if it were an entry in a Hallmark dictionary of words and phrases. “HYNIES noun,” he began, defining a Hynie (a term he said was “concocted by a genius” years ago) as a “rare and beautiful person who seems to be sprinkled all over this beautiful earth.”
He then continued, “Derivation: from the Late Canadian ‘HYNES’ meaning ‘mildly intelligent actor’ + Late Latin ‘IES’ meaning ‘to make something adorable and plural.'”
As for his idea to surprise fans with impromptu visits, Hynes wrote, “I’ve wanted to do this for some time. That I get to make this my Sunday, makes me a lucky man.”
