Christina Haack Mourns Her Beloved & ‘Beautiful’ Grandma

Longtime HGTV star Christina Haack has had lots to smile about lately, from jetting around the world with her business executive beau to filming a second season of “The Flip-Off.”

But over Memorial Day weekend, Haack paused to let her fans know that her family was also mourning the loss of her beloved maternal grandma, Patricia Meursinge.

Late on May 25, 2026, Haack posted two Instagram Stories to let fans know about her family’s loss. In the first, she shared a photo of herself holding hands with her grandma, who looked chic in a red, wide-brimmed hat with a coordinating red scarf to accent her black outfit. They were flanked by Haack’s teen daughter Taylor, mom Laurie, and sister Carly.

Over the photo, Haack wrote, “Rip to my beautiful grandma Pat. Always the classiest lady ❤️🙏😢”

On a second Story, Haack posted a black and white wedding photo of her grandma and grandpa walking down the aisle at their 1950s wedding and captioned it, “Back together in Heaven 🤍🙏”

In June 2022, Haack shared other pics from her grandparents’ wedding, marveling that it was their 71st anniversary. She wrote, “Allll these years later they are still a beautiful couple in love. ❤️”

Haack’s grandpa, Peter Meusinge, died in February 2025 at age 98, according to his obituary. A gifted woodworker, he served as a Carpenter’s Mate in the Navy during World War II and then as a patternmaker as the couple settled down near Los Angeles, raising their two daughters, including Haack’s mom, Laurie.

Christina Haack’s Mom Thanks Fans for Their Kindness Amid Loss

Fans offered Haack and her family their condolences via a Facebook fan page dedicated to the “Flip or Flop” alum, after admins posted screenshots of her Instagram Stories. Haack’s mom, who appeared on her show “Christina on the Coast” when the designer transformed her parents’ kitchen and family room, liked many of the comments and wrote her own that said, “Thank you for the kind words.”

One person wrote, “Your grandmother was such a kind hearted lady. She was so proud of her daughters and their families ❤️ She loved sharing her pictures and stories, I always found her so interesting! She will be missed by many! There is peace knowing your grandparents are together again ❤️ they continue their love story, in the heavens above … Sending prayers and hugs”

Someone else commented, “So sorry for your loss of your grandmother Christina! Condolences to your family & friends who love her! May she RIP!”

“So sorry condolences to you and your family,” another wrote. “How nice she saw your great accomplishment in life”

Haack was also close with her paternal grandmother. When she and her second husband, Ant Anstead, divorced in 2021, she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post that she was reclaiming her maiden name in honor of her, according to Today.

“My grandma, Mildred ‘Biddy’ Haack, was my greatest influence growing up,” she wrote. “She was always real in a world of so many fakes. I spent the summers on my family’s farm and we would stay up all night talking. She’s the only person I’ve ever really trusted with my life.”

Haack continued, “Even in the era she grew up in she colored outside the lines and did things without fear of judgement. She loved me hard and always let me know I could achieve anything I wanted to. She spoke life into me when I was down and taught me what unconditional love is. I miss her every single day. Taking back the family’s last name and know my grandparents are smiling from above.”

After Haack finalized her divorce from her third husband, Josh Hall, she returned to her maiden name again, and court documents showed that her middle name as Meursinge, so the HGTV star’s name is now a beautiful reminder of both grandmas.
