Erin Napier loves a romantic gesture. In a new clip from HGTV‘s “Home Town,” a homeowner goes all out to plan an unforgettable date night, leaving Erin visibly stunned.
Erin Napier Gushes Over ‘Home Town’ Homeowner’s Romantic Gesture
On April 23, the HGTV Instagram account shared a clip from an upcoming episode of “Home Town.”
In the video, they check out the homeowner’s interesting wall covered in greenery, a leftover from an elaborate setup for a romantic dinner for two.
Ben asks, “What was going on here?”
The homeowner explains, “I set up a little date night.”
Erin’s jaw drops over the sweet gesture. “Dang, that’s so Ben Napier of you!” she says, giving the homeowner a high five for his impressive effort.
“Are you a mushy gushy romantic?” she asks.
In a talking head interview with her husband, Erin explains, “When you find a good romantic man who makes gestures like covering the back wall in greenery and special fairy lights to make you feel special on a date night … you keep that man.”
Ben Napier Writes Erin a Love Note Every Day
In a March 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Ben and Erin shared some of their secrets for a happy marriage.
“I don’t feel qualified to talk on much, but I am so extremely happy in our marriage,” Erin said.
She explained how Ben follows “the philosophy that every day, you should do something to make your spouse fall in love with you again.”
Erin shared some of the ways he does that, such as surprising her with a private chef one Valentine’s day for a backyard meal. “He set up a big canvas tent on our girls’ swing set,” the HGTV star recalled.
She added, “I was sick with Covid and kind of miserable, but he made me feel so special. It was like we had been on a trip. It was magical.”
Ben also leaves Erin love notes every day — and even the small messages mean a lot. “They don’t say anything profound,” she said. “Things like, ‘I’m so thankful that it’s you and me, and that this is what our life is,’ or, ‘Thank you for being mine, and I’ll always do my best for you every day.'”
Erin shared some of the ways she reciprocates, even with small gestures, like getting his coffee set up the night before for the next morning. “I don’t drink coffee, but he does, so I get the coffee maker ready the night before,” she explained.
The HGTV star even sets out a meaningful mug for Ben to use.
“We went to Ole Miss to speak at an event, so I put his Ole Miss mug [out]. It’s a little secret language we have,” she noted. “It’s just a mug, but it’s meaningful.”
Ben also takes care of their gardens, which Erin called “a romantic gesture to me.” She shared, “He makes sure we have something fresh I can [harvest] to cook.”
Taking care of people is her husband’s love language. “Ben wants everyone to have the best possible experience, even if it’s just breakfast on a Tuesday morning,” Erin shared.
