New & Returning HGTV Shows Premiering in September 2026
A new season of a returning HGTV favorite comes to the network in September, plus a few new shows join the schedule. There’s a little something for everyone!
“Botched Homes” premieres on September 2 at 10 p.m. ET. According to an HGTV press release, “General contractor and master craftsman Charlie Kawas will rescue South Florida homeowners from some of the region’s most disastrous renovation projects.” In the series, Kawas (along with an expert designer and crew) “transforms homes plagued by shoddy workmanship, dangerous conditions and dysfunctional layouts into safe, beautiful and functional spaces.”
“A Very Haunted Renovation” kicks off on September 15 at 8 p.m. ET. Actress Anna Camp hosts the competition series, with six designers living in Bihl Manor, “a tormented mansion in Fremont, Ohio,” for 31 day. They’ll complete renovations in hopes of winning the $50,000 cash prize. “Design expert Michel Smith Boyd will mentor and evaluate each unnerving overhaul alongside esteemed guest judges including: production designer Hannah Beachler, paranormal investigator Jack Osbourne, actor Billy Porter, actress Cassandra Peterson, horror film director Eli Roth and actress Lulu Wilson,” HGTV shares in a press release.
“Scariest House in America” returns for season 3 on September 18 at 9 p.m. ET with host Retta on the hunt for “the country’s most spine-tingling properties.” The premiere episode sees the comedian going to Florida, Ohio and West Virginia, “with her first stop at a foreboding concrete monstrosity riddled with creepy shadows and rattling doorknobs. Additional haunts will include a gingerbread-style cottage home to friendly ghosts, an unsettling 1920s observatory and a Victorian hotspot for paranormal activity.”
“House Shock” is a new renovation series premiering on September 22 at 9 p.m. ET. “Host and designer Arielle Vandenberg will team up with expert contractor and former ‘Battle on the Beach’ winner Steve Lewis to help pull off surprise overhauls of spaces the recipients have dreamed of updating, whether neglected, abandoned or just plain despised,” HGTV shares. “Sneaky loved ones will nominate unsuspecting homeowners for secret room makeovers” on the show.
