It’s the friendship we never knew we needed! Award-winning actress Jane Seymour and HGTV fan-favorite Hilary Farr just revealed that they’ve been friends since they were 13 years old, giggling like schoolgirls in an adorable video that Farr posted on August 18, 2026.
Seymour first rose to fame as a Bond Girl named Solitaire in 1973’s “Live and Let Die” and last starred in Hallmark Channel’s 2025 mini-series “The Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas” and the AcornTV show “Harry Wild.” In the video, she joked that she and Farr, an interior designer best known for her many seasons starring on “Love It or List It,” haven’t changed at all since growing up together in England.
Hilary Farr Jokes That She’s Known Jane Seymour for ‘350 Years’
Farr, 74, celeberated her six decades of friendship with Seymour, 75, by writing in the caption of her selfie video, “Such a great evening with you @janeseymour! Who else has a friend like this since you were 13 years old!?”
“Hilary, how long have we known each other?” Seymour asked at the start of their video, and Farr quipped, “I don’t know, 350 years, I think.”
“We were 13 when we met,” Seymour smiled, “and you’ve become incredibly successful right here in Toronto.”
“I don’t know, I think you’re doing alright,” Farr teased, to which Seymour replied, “Am I doing okay?”
“I always remember you were much better at things than I was when we were at school,” Seymour continued, but Farr quipped, “That was then, and this is now!”
“And what’s really fun,” Seymour noted, “is we haven’t changed!” The two pals laughed heartily as newly gray-haired Farr said, “Not much!”
Hilary Farr & Jane Seymour Were Both Aspiring Dancers When They Were Young
GettyFarr and Seymour referred to knowing each other in school, which makes perfect sense given their backgrounds. Seymour was born in Wimbledon, England, per Ability Magazine, and after years of training in dance, she made her professional debut at age 13 with the London Festival Ballet.
But an injury cut Seymour’s dance career short. She turned her attention to theater and film, eventually becoming best known for starring in the long-running 90s TV series “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.”
Farr, meanwhile, was born in Toronto but moved with her family to London, where she was also a dancer, which could explain how she and Seymour met. According to House Beautiful, Farr attended the Royal Ballet Royal in London, but a growth spurt at age 11 prompted her to shift gears, too, and focus on theater.
Before becoming an interior designer, Farr landed many small roles in movies and series during the 70s and 80s, including playing the bride in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Fans Are Loving Discovering the Friendship Between Jane Seymour & Hilary Farr
Unsurprisingly, fans of both Seymour and Farr were over the moon to learn about their history, flooding the video post with comments and celebrating their own longtime friendships, including one who wrote, “How wonderful to see you 2 together!!!”
Another wrote, “Wow, I love this! ❤️ My best friend and I have been friends since we were 17, and we’re still best friends at 47! And now our children have become friends too—they’re all around the same age, just like we were. It’s so beautiful to see our friendship continue through them! 🫶🏻”
Someone else gushed, “Love seeing this, and happy for your friendship! I have a group of three! For 55 years!”
“Gorgeous and talented ladies, you make the world a better place,” another fan wrote.
Farr retired from HGTV in 2023 after co-starring on “Love It or List It” with David Visentin for more than a dozen years, but continues to work on design projects and related appearances. The show rebooted in 2025 with Visentin and longtime HGTV personality Page Turner.
