HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Reveals How Utah Move ‘Changed Everything’ for Hit Show

Help! I Wrecked My House” star Jasmine Roth moved her family from Southern California to Utah between seasons 4 and 5 of her hit show. With season 5 about to kick off, the HGTV star reveals exactly how the move impacted the series.

Jasmine Roth Says Her Move to Utah ‘Changed Everything’

The fan favorite opened up about adjusting to her new home with husband Brett and their two young children, revealing what fans can expect for the upcoming season.

“It kind of changed everything,” Roth told Parade in an interview published Tuesday, November 25. “It’s still the same concept and the show is still very much me and my business, going out and helping folks who have wrecked their houses. But that’s pretty much where the similarities end.”

According to Roth, moving her company, Built Custom Homes, was “a lot more work than [she expected].”

“I don’t know if people were waiting for me to move to Utah or what happened, but the folks that were calling, I mean, it’s just been staggering,” she told Parade. “It’s been inspiring and it’s been troubling all at the same time. Because there’s so many people that I wanted to help, and that I was hoping to be able to, not only have on the show, but just be there for them.”

She went on to say that the projects they decided to take on for season 5 will be “bigger” than fans have seen in the past.

“Those are the people that really needed the most help,” she added.

Jasmine Roth’s HGTV Journey Started With an Email

The “Hidden Potential” star recently revealed that she wouldn’t be where she is today if not for a single email.

“I almost deleted it because I thought it was spam,” she shared via Instagram on November 11. “I threw everything I had into what I knew was the opportunity of a lifetime,” she added, explaining that she responded with a “sizzle” reel.

HGTV ended up filming a pilot episode with Roth, which she recalled putting her all into.

“I called in all my favors, worked around the clock, and left no stone unturned. It’s still one of my favorite projects even all these years later,” she continued.

Roth’s first show, “Hidden Potential,” ran for three seasons. Following its end in 2020, Roth landed her second series, “Help! I Wrecked My House,” which is set to premiere its fifth season on Wednesday, November 26, on HGTV.
