“100 Day Dream Home” star Mika Kleinschmidt is pivoting from renovating homes to performing on stage. The HGTV star wowed fans amid her debut in the Broadway musical “Come From Away.”
Mika’s Debut
“In the middle of who knows where, you’ll meet the people who turned an unimaginable moment into an unforgettable story of kindness, generosity, and hope,” the theater shared alongside a clip from the final rehearsal before opening night. “Here’s your first look at ‘Come From Away’. We can’t wait to share it with you. Get your tickets now, Eight O’Clock Theatre’s Come From Away opens tomorrow.”
Mika can be seen on stage among the ensemble cast in the Largo, Florida, theater.
“I saw it tonight and can’t wait to see it again!” her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt, commented on the post.
Mika simply added three red hearts and a fire emoji.
Mika previously shared update with fans as the cast and crew prepared for opening night.
“Move-in day!!!! Get your tickets now this is a show you won’t wanna miss!!” she captioned a post on August 23.
When one fan asked whether Mika was doing a Broadway show, she responded, “I am doing a Broadway musical here in Largo, Florida❤️🙌.”
“Come From Away”—which originally premiered on Broadway in 2017— is the true story of plane passengers whose flights were grounded following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Nearly 7,000 passengers became stranded in the small Canadian town of Newfoundland, according to Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
Mika’s Big Move
The news of Mika’s big career move was shared by Eight O’Clock Theatre in June.

In the days following September 11, 2001, nearly 7,000 stranded passengers found unexpected kindness in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. What followed is one of the most extraordinary true stories of compassion, resilience, and the good we are capable of in our darkest moments,” they shared via Instagram, showing Mika’s name alongside “Hannah & Others.” “This September, as we reflect on the anniversary of 9/11, these incredible performers will bring that story to life on our stage. Join us September 4–13 for a powerful story that reminds us that even in times of uncertainty, hope begins with humanity.”
Mika then took to her own Facebook page to share her excitement.
“Thrilled to be going back to live theater and performing on stage with these wonderful people,” she wrote. “Looking forward to starting our journey together and telling this beautiful story.”
The show is scheduled to run from Friday, September 4, to Sunday, September 13, tying in to the 25th anniversary of September 11.

Despite her busy schedule, Mika isn’t stepping away from HGTV anytime soon. She recently revealed that she will be appearing in the new competition series, “Totally ’90s House.”
