Nicole Curtis is moving forward after the cancellation of her HGTV series in February. The “Rehab Addict” star shared a new update while celebrating her birthday in London, noting that she can “do whatever I want these days” but will “never forget the journey.”
Nicole Curtis Opens Up About Life After ‘Rehab Addict’
On August 20, Curtis took to Instagram to share a life update. She reflected on how she’s doing since HGTV canceled her show earlier this year after footage of her using a racial slur surfaced online.
“Just blew out some candles in London …,” she shared in the caption. “Thanks for the wishes, but, mostly, thank you for making my dreams a reality.”
Curtis continued, “I was recognized in a Trader Joe’s in Rochester, Michigan last week and I teared up and said ‘I did the construction cleanup on this store and what a crazy full circle moment.’ That was how I got started in all this — cleaning and designing in my head. It wasn’t hope — it was just drive.”
“I can do whatever I want these days and as you know … I, generally, do ☺️ but I never forget the journey,” she noted.
Curtis shared, “Soooo … we got a group of us over here kicking it for my birthday (Lord Jesus help me — I’m old enough to be ‘normal’ now, but I got my grandparents looking down from heaven shining the path the opposite way 😂☺️).”

On her Instagram Stories, she shared a similar message, writing, “Thank you for watching me save houses. Because of you, I do whatever I want when I’m in the mood to do whatever I want.”
In July, she shared an update that she “just woke up halfway across the world.”
She noted, “Commuting cross-country to produce every single aspect of a #1 show while doing the work on camera and the build while raising a family … whole lot of miles stacked up ☺️. Never missed a school event, a game or a holiday because of something called turn and burns.”
