Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott already have a long list of HGTV hits to their credit, including not just “The Property Brothers,” but also “Forever Home,” “Don’t Hate Your House,” “Brother vs. Brother,” “Celebrity IOU,” “Backed By the Bros” and now “Chasing the West.”
But now the HGTV superstars have announced a new show, and we can guarantee it’s not like anything they’ve ever done before.
In a new Instagram post on their propertybrothers account, the bros write, “We’ve got BIG news 📣 Our show #BuilderBrothersDreamFactory is now streaming on @therokuchannel! Head to the link in bio to start watching!”
The video shows Jonathan and Drew getting animated- literally. The new show is a cartoon called “Builder Brothers Dream Factory.”
In the video, Jonathan explains, “It’s our brand new animated kids show that we’ve created to encourage kids to dream big, really big!”
“Inspired by me, only me,” Drew jokes, before correcting himself, saying, “Ok, inspired by us and our childhood.”
Jonathan goes on, “As parents, we know how important it is to inspire our kids to use their imagination and creativity, and to help others.”
Property Brothers Debut New Animated Series
The “Builder Brothers Dream Factory” YouTube channel describes the new cartoon like this: “Builder Brothers Dream Factory showcases the imaginative adventures of twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, who, alongside their friends Mel and Ayana, utilize creativity and teamwork to address neighbourhood challenges. The series, targeted at upper preschoolers (ages 4-7), fosters problem-solving skills and collaboration through engaging and educational content.”
In an article in Parents magazine, Drew explained, “We were always coming up with out-of-the-box-ideas, and Jonathan and I would drag our friends into it, too. We’d think up interesting ways to solve problems.”
Drew says the premise was inspired by their dad. “Our dad used to say, ‘If someone says it can’t be done, figure out 5 ways to do it.’ That really motivated us and felt like a lesson we wanted to share.”
In fact, Drew says that lesson is one both he and Jonathan are passing on now as parents.
“Our parents always gave us the freedom to chase our ideas, no matter how wacky or over-the-top they were. And now that we’re dads, we realize even more how vital it is to encourage a sense of creativity at a young age,” Drew explained.
Jonathan & Drew Scott Say They Designed Each Character
The HGTV designers say they designed each character on “Builder Brothers Dream Factory.”
“Each character has their own special skill and personality, too, which reminds kids that they all have something to bring to the table,” Jonathan told Parenting magazine. “It also shows how differences can make a team even stronger.”
Each episode features the friends bringing their skills together to overcome a new challenge.
“So it reinforces that theme of not letting problems hold you back, but instead to use them as an opportunity to come up with a creative solution,” Drew explained.
“Builder Brothers Dream Factory” is streaming now on Roku.
