‘Renovation Aloha’ Fans Send Prayers to Tristyn & Kamohai Kalama After Hurricane Lala Hits Hawaii

“Renovation Aloha” stars Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama received an outpouring of prayers from fans concerned for their safety as Hurricane Lala hit Hawaii. Although Lala was downgraded to a tropical storm, it continued to bring strong winds and heavy rain across the islands. See how the HGTV stars are riding out the storm in their latest update.

Tristyn & Kamohai Kalama Give Update After Hurricane Lala Hits Hawaii

On August 16, Tristyn and Kamohai took to Instagram to share a video of them making brownies together to celebrate their kids’ return to school.

“First week back to school ✔️A few wins, a little chaos, and brownies to celebrate,” they shared in the caption.

In the video, the family mixes up the brownies, with Tristyn providing a life update in a voiceover. “It is Saturday, which means we’ve officially survived our first week back to school,” she explained. “We have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader, which is honestly super crazy to say out loud.”

The HGTV star shared that while they enjoyed their summer break, “It actually feels really good to be back into a routine. And shockingly, getting back into that routine was way easier than we even thought it was going to be.”

With their school-year routine, including extracurriculars, and work on “Renovation Aloha” projects in full swing, Tristyn said they are happy to be back to a more regular schedule.

“Nothing super profound over here, just making brownies, hanging with the family, and praying that Hurricane Lala passes over the island quickly and does not leave a ton of damage,” she added.

Later in the day, they shared an update about the storm. “Rain and winds since 2 a.m. No power as of 5 a.m. We are hunkered down. It will pass,” they wrote on their Instagram Stories. “Until then, laptop movie, candles, cards, and snuggles.”
