New footage offers a closer look at the South Carolina apartment complex where Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
Panettiere died Sunday, Aug. 16, at Judson Mill Lofts in Greenville, South Carolina. The actress was 36.
Video obtained by TMZ from outside the property shows a landscaped complex featuring exposed brick, large windows and maintained green spaces.
How the Complex Looks
Inside, footage shows hallways with high ceilings and green doors.
The footage does not show the inside of Panettiere’s apartment or the specific unit where she was found.
It does, however, provide a look at the property where emergency crews responded after receiving a call concerning an unresponsive woman.
According to information previously released by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, a 911 call was received at approximately 1:51 p.m. on Aug. 16 regarding a reported cardiac arrest.
First responders and EMS personnel arrived and found Panettiere in cardiac arrest. Life-saving measures were attempted, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Panettiere was reportedly found inside the residence where she had been temporarily staying.
More Details Are Coming Out
A police report has provided additional details about the scene. Panettiere’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, as well as his brother, Zach Hickerson, were both at the property.
According to the report, Brian was sleeping in another room when Zach discovered Panettiere unresponsive on an armchair. Emergency personnel subsequently attempted to revive her.
Police also documented that Brian showed officers a bag containing medications Panettiere was taking.
Narcan was reportedly found at the residence as well. The medication is used to reverse the effects of an overdose. Officials have not announced her cause of death.
The circumstances surrounding her passing remain under investigation.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has reportedly joined the investigation, with outlets reporting that DEA agents are “assisting the parallel death investigations already underway” with the Greenville Police Department and Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office previously said an autopsy found no signs of trauma that would have contributed to Panettiere’s death. Her cause and manner of death remain pending the completion of additional studies.
Her Boyfriend Gave a Statement
Hickerson has addressed the investigation through his attorney, Sloan Ellis of the Ellis Hinton law firm.
“Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed,” Ellis said.
The attorney added, “As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play.”
He concluded, “Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”
Panettiere began working as an actress when she was a child, appearing on soap operas including “One Life to Live” and “Guiding Light.” She later became internationally recognized as Claire Bennet on NBC’s “Heroes.”
She went on to star as Juliette Barnes on ABC’s “Nashville” and appeared in movies including “Remember the Titans,” “Ice Princess,” “Scream 4,” and “Scream VI.”
Since her death, Panettiere’s family, friends, former costars, and fans have continued sharing tributes celebrating her career and remembering her life.
For now, officials have not released a final determination regarding what caused her death.
