The staff happily posed with the couple as they enjoyed their meal. While it certainly isn’t a hard launch, many fans believe a dinner date in Tokyo is a strong indicator they’re seeing one another on a romantic level.
In April, PEOPLE spoke to a source who claimed Jacob Elordi and Kendall Jenner have been “quietly hanging out” for several months. Weeks later, another source said the pair are enjoying time together away from the spotlight.
“They’re not trying to turn this into some big public thing,” the insider told PEOPLE. “They enjoy spending time together in more private settings.”
“They want to keep things low-key while they’re figuring things out naturally,” the source added. “Kendall really likes him though.”
Photographers Spotted the Two in Hawaii Together
In mid-May, the actor and the model explored the beautiful Hawaiian islands. Photographers spotted the pair, adding fuel to the relationship rumors.
“While Kendall Jenner & Jacob Elordi were in Hawaii this week they stopped by Nourish Hanalei for breakfast. Fans who ran into the couple while on the island told Deuxmoi they were ‘so cute together,'” the Deuxmoi Instagram account shared in May, attaching a photo of the two in paradise.
“Kendall’s game is unmatched,” one fan wrote in the comments.
A few other Instagram users speculated the pair might simply be friends. Others noted that while Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi appeared to be in Hawaii at the same time, there weren’t any documented photos of the pair actually together.
An Insider Alludes That Hawaii Brought Jenner & Elordi Together
However, an insider told Page Six that the Hawaii trip “changed everything” for the budding couple.
“Kendall really didn’t expect to be this into him this fast, but Hawaii kind of changed everything,” the source told Page Six. “They got super close on that trip, and it definitely made their connection stronger. It’s becoming a lot more serious than she expected.”
Even if nothing long-term blossoms from the relationship, it appears that Jenner and Elordi are forging a genuine connection.
“Her friends and family can see how much she likes him,” the insider revealed.
