Kim Kardashian Takes Center Stage in First Look at Netflix Comedy ‘The Fifth Wheel’

Netflix has unveiled the first images from its upcoming comedy film “The Fifth Wheel,” offering an early glimpse of Kim Kardashian in her first leading role in a Netflix feature. The project pairs Kardashian with stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser and marks Eva Longoria’s first time directing a feature film for the streamer, according to Variety.

The newly released images show Kardashian stepping into a slick, self-assured role as an unexpected guest whose presence disrupts a long-planned reunion. Production on the film is currently underway, though Netflix has not yet announced a release date.

A Reunion That Goes Off Script

“The Fifth Wheel” centers on a group of friends who reconnect during a celebratory weekend in Las Vegas. What begins as a nostalgic reunion quickly turns chaotic when Kardashian’s character joins the trip, inserting herself into the group dynamic and challenging long-standing relationships, according to The Express Tribune.

The title refers to Kardashian’s role as an outsider to the friend group, a character who exposes unresolved tensions and personal insecurities as the weekend unfolds. First-look images show her dressed in sleek leather and bold styling, signaling a confident and disruptive presence amid the ensemble.

Netflix appears to be positioning the film as a character-driven comedy that blends sharp humor with emotional friction, a formula that has fueled recent successes on the platform.

A Comedy Ensemble With Big Names

Kardashian stars alongside Nikki Glaser, whose recent rise includes hosting the 2025 Golden Globe Awards. The cast also features Fortune Feimster, Brenda Song, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, and Scott MacArthur, according to Collider. The ensemble brings together comedians and sitcom veterans known for fast-paced dialogue and ensemble chemistry.

Eva Longoria directs from a screenplay written by Paula Pell and Janine Brito, both of whom bring strong comedy credentials. Pell has written for “Saturday Night Live” and “Girls5eva,” while Brito’s credits include “Mr. Mayor.” Variety reported that Longoria also serves as a producer on the project.

For Kardashian, the role signals a significant step forward in her acting career. While she has appeared in television projects including “American Horror Story” and Hulu’s legal drama “All’s Fair,” “The Fifth Wheel” places her at the center of a studio-backed comedy with a theatrical sensibility.

The first-look release suggests Netflix is leaning into Kardashian’s star power while surrounding her with seasoned comedic voices to ground the film. As production continues, anticipation is building around whether “The Fifth Wheel” will mark a true turning point in Kardashian’s on-screen career.
