Kris Jenner isn’t shy about discussing all aspects of her life, including her health. “The Kardashians” star has been very open about her plastic surgery which includes a facelift. But now, she’s discussing another important surgery, a hysterectomy, which she says was her “best decision.”
Kris Jenner Underwent Hysterectomy to Avoid Any ‘Medical Complication’
GettyAlthough Jenner is busy running her family’s empire, she makes her health a top priority. A 2023 visit to her doctor proved to be a scary time for the momager.
On the May 5th episode of the “SHE MD podcast,” the Jenner Communications founder revealed “a tiny spot” was found on ovaries. Although it was alarming for Jenner, the doctor didn’t see any cause for concern just yet. “We’ve got a spot. We’re going to keep an eye on it,” Jenner recalled of the visit.
However, during Jenner’s next appointment the following year, the spot had grown. “It had grown a tiny little bit, and she said, ‘It’s time to take care of that. It’s growing, so let’s get it out of there.'”
Dr. Thais Aliabadi, who is Jenner’s doctor and the podcast’s co-host chimed in with her expertise. “After menopause, you’re not ovulating. So, you’re not supposed to have anything growing on your ovary. Now, if it’s stable and it stays stable, most of them are benign. You can watch it, but if anything grows in the ovary, I don’t like it.”
Although the idea of getting a hysterectomy is frightening for most women, Jenner gave the doctor the go-ahead. “So, I just said, let’s go in and take care of it and it was the best decision I ever made.”
Jenner also went to reveal that her surgery was caught on camera. “I videotaped your surgery for you,” Dr. Aliabadi quipped. “It’s 22 minutes, skin-to-skin.”
Kris Jenner’s Hysterectomy Was Document on ‘The Kardashians’
GettyThis isn’t the first time that Jenner’s opened up about her hysterectomy. The star revealed her procedure during a July 2024 episode of ‘The Kardashians.”
Although she understood she needed the surgery, it was still an emotional time for her. “I’m going to remove something that gave me six of the best parts of my whole life,” she told friends Kathy Hilton and Faye Resnick.
“I think I’m very emotional about it because when you’re young, you start talking about wanting a family. Your friends are having babies or not having babies. It was all we talked about for, literally, 40 or 50 years. And now we are here talking about it again and it’s the other side of the process. And it makes me very sad.”
Jenner was honest with her children about her hysterectomy and they rallied around her. On the day before her procedure, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner surprised their mom with a party, complete with cake.
Although it was a difficult time for Jenner, the support of her kids meant everything to her. As Dr. Aliabadi told Jenner in their podcast, “That uterus did you good.” Jenner couldn’t agree more, “That was a good uterus.”
