Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian have found a simple way to keep their large blended family connected.
The Blink-182 drummer opened up about life with their seven children, revealing that although everyone’s schedules mean different family members are together at different times, there’s one tradition they make a point of keeping every week: Sunday family dinner. It’s a routine that Kourtney first discussed years ago as they worked to blend their households.
Travis Barker Says Their Kids All ‘Get Along’
Barker shared a positive update about the Kardashian-Barker household in an August 14 interview with People, explaining that their children have developed a good dynamic.
“Fortunately, all of our kids get along,” Barker said. “Everyone kind of does their own thing. We try to have a lot of normalcy.”
Barker, 50, shares Landon, 22, and Alabama, 20, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. He has also maintained a close relationship with Atiana De La Hoya, 27, Moakler’s daughter with Oscar De La Hoya.
Kourtney, 47, shares Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11, with Scott Disick. She and Barker welcomed their first child together, Rocky Thirteen, in November 2023.
With children ranging from toddlerhood to their late 20s, getting everyone together isn’t always possible. Barker said, “Different pieces of the family are together at different times.”
One thing, however, remains consistent. “Every Sunday we have family dinner—there’s never a Sunday where we don’t have family dinner,” he told the publication.
Barker added that being present for his family and leading by example are important to him.
Kourtney Kardashian Revealed the Tradition Years Ago
Sunday dinner isn’t a new addition to the family’s routine.
In fact, Kourtney revealed in 2022 that the tradition was already helping them navigate the early stages of bringing their households together.
“We’re in the place where we’re figuring out how to blend our households and our kids, and what life looks like now,” she told the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast months after marrying Barker.
“For the most part we’re getting those things in place,” she added. “We do family dinner every Sunday night with all the kids at his house.”
At the time, Kourtney and Barker were still living in separate homes a block apart. Rather than immediately uprooting their children, Kourtney explained that they wanted everyone to remain comfortable in the homes and bedrooms where they had grown up.
That arrangement eventually changed. Kourtney revealed on “The Kardashians” in 2025 that her home was undergoing renovations so the entire blended family would have enough space to live together.
Barker’s latest comments show that one element from those early days hasn’t changed. Nearly four years after Kourtney first discussed their Sunday dinners, the tradition remains a fixture for the family.
Travis Barker Says Being a Dad Keeps Getting ‘Better’
Barker’s definition of family has also extended beyond biological relationships.
He remains close to Atiana despite his 2008 divorce from her mother. Atiana previously offered her own playful description of the Kardashian-Barker household, comparing them to one famous TV family.
“It’s like the Brady Bunch,” she said in a February 2025 episode of “The Kardashians,” joking that although they might “look like the Addams Family,” their dynamic was still reminiscent of the famously blended television clan.
Barker’s latest comments suggest that bond hasn’t changed.
“I love Ati the same way at 27 as I did when she was 2,” he told People. He expressed a similar sentiment about Landon, explaining that his love for his children remains the same even as their relationships evolve.
“Every year honestly just gets better,” Barker said. “It’s awesome.”
The family recently came together publicly to support Barker at the Los Angeles premiere of his new documentary, “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.” Kourtney joined her husband, along with Atiana, Landon, and Alabama, for the event.
