Charli xcx has said “I do” again and did so in a sheer wedding dress. A fashionable option at the moment — just ask Dakota Johnson and Lizzo — the “Boys” singer wore the sleek gown for her second ceremony with now-husband and The 1975 band member George Daniel.
The ceremony took place in Italy on Saturday, September 13, at Tonnara Di Scopello in the village of Scopello, Sicily, according to Just Jared. The bride marked the occassion in a stunning white dress that featured a form-fitting corset bodysuit as well as a sheer full-length layer of fabric overtop.
Fans seemed to adore the dress and left complimentary comments on TMZ’s Instagram post of the gown. One social media user wrote, “Dress is perfect.”
Another person apparently agreed, adding a comment saying, “Dress is amazing. 🔥”
‘No Expense Spared’ for Charli XCX and Daniel’s Second Wedding
Charli xcx and Daniel kept things relatively small for their first wedding. However, for their second wedding, things were quite different and they were willing to go all out. First of all, they travelled to another country for the special ceremony and accompanying party.
“Charli and George fell in love with Sicily and knew they wanted to get married there,” an insider explained to The Sun. “It’s incredibly secluded and romantic. There will be no expense spared. It’s costing tens of thousands of pounds and visually it will be mesmerising.”
“Charli and George said they wanted a massive party and there are no restrictions on when the bar has to close, so it can go on all night,” the source continued. They also added, “It’s going to be pretty star-studded too, with plenty of their celeb mates making the journey over to Sicily to watch them say ‘I do.’ Charli and George are so excited to become man and wife.”
“They’ve always dreamed of a big party in Italy,” another source told People. “Somewhere beautiful and private, where all their friends can let loose. It will be star-studded. This was always the plan.”
Daniel Cried During the First Wedding
Charli xcx and Daniel’s first wedding took play at Hackney Town Hall in London on July 19. It was an emotional moment for the groom who shed a few tears during the ceremony according to a TikTok video posted by the bride, per Billboard.
In the TikTok video, Charli xcx could be seen in her first wedding dress, walking into a room and then walking right back out. She added text, writing, “When george isn’t crying when he sees me walking down the aisle.”
While she was surely joking about potentially walking out if Daniel hadn’t reacted in a way that she envisioned, she added, “Luckily he did.”
