Fans of Lizzo were surely thrilled that she made an appearance during 2025’s New York Fashion Week on Friday, September 12. Of course, they might also be buzzing about the fact that the “Truth Hurts” singer opted to wear a sheer corset bodysuit for the occassion.
GettyAttending Christian Siriano‘s show, she posed while standing in front of the camera in a sheer brown bodysuit that used a corset design to hug her figure. Beyond that, instead of a skirt or pants, she went with an equally sheer black wrap that was tied around her hips before flowing down at her side all the way to her toes. She added to the look with black strap heels and completed it with deep red hair.
GettySitting in the front row, Lizzo was in the company of other famous faces and fashion fans like Whoopi Goldberg as well as besties Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.
Lizzo Likes How She Looks Now
Along with slaying stunning ensembles while attending both industry events and performing on stage, Lizzo has also created a buzz over her weight loss. In July, she opened up to Women’s Health about her changing look and her thoughts on body positivity.
“I like how I look now,” Lizzo said. “I still think I’m big. I’m still wearing plus-size clothing. I have the same rolls. I got the same belly, the same thighs — I think I’m just a smaller version.”
“Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same,” she went on to explain. “Body positivity is the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn’t exist.”
Lizzo Says Fashion Can Help ‘Dreams Come True’
GettyFashion means a lot to Lizzo and she has revealed why that is in the past. The star told Teen Vogue in December 2022, “Fashion is an extension, for sure, of my creativity.”
“And I think that I like having fun, but I also like being a canvas for people,” she added. “And I think the more I’ve allowed people to just be artists — like my glam team and creative team—, allow them to be artists and me [to] just be the canvas on which they can express themselves, I think the more fashionable I’ve become by allowing other people to do what they do best.”
She continued by saying, “So I think it means a lot to me in that regard because I love being a part of making people’s dreams come true or watching their dreams come true.”
