Country and rock fans are celebrating — Darius Rucker is engaged!
The Hootie & the Blowfish frontman, age 59, announced his engagement to singer-influencer Emily Deahl on October 8, 2025.
The proposal happened on a boardwalk, and in Instagram photos, Rucker is on one knee while Deahl beams.
The gorgeous black-and-white image was followed by a photo of the happy couple as Deahl showed off the stunning ring.
In the caption, Rucker wrote, “Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”
The Couple Has Previously Been Private
What makes the news even more poignant is how the couple waited to share their bond with the world.
Deahl acknowledged the secrecy of their relationship on her Instagram Stories shortly after they revealed their engagement.
“I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long, but somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me. And all I wanted to do was protect it,” she wrote.
She joked that she no longer has to edit Rucker out of images.
It was only in September that Rucker made their love public.
He shared a Las Vegas selfie with Deahl, posting “Wizard of Oz at @spherevegas with my love & my boys”.
After Rucker revealed the two were an item, some mentioned the age gap between the two.
Deahl poked fun at it in a humorous TikTok with the caption, “My frontal lobe has been fully developed for many years but thanks guys.”
Rucker was previously married to Beth Leonard from 2000 to 2020, with whom he has two children, Daniela and Jack.
He also has a daughter, Carolyn, from an earlier relationship.

Country star Miranda Lambert wrote a simple “Congrats!” after she heard about the news.
Rucker’s friend Louis Aceves II said he was thrilled everyone now knows about the engagement.
“Oh my god I’ve been waiting for this cat to be out the bag,” he began. “So I can to tell everyone how absolutely amazing and how much this makes my heart smile!!! I love you @emilydeahl & @dariusrucker more than possible to show. Congrats, excited for you guys!!!”
