Music Legend Diana Ross Spotted Grocery Shopping in Rare Outing & Fans Can’t Get Enough — VIDEO

R&B legend Diana Ross is notorious for her fabulous outfits, larger-than-life hair, and diva vibes. So, fans were shocked and delighted when a video surfaced on May 19, 2026, of the music icon casually doing her own grocery shopping in Los Angeles.

In footage obtained by TMZ, Ross can be seen outside a Bristol Farms store, a high-end grocery chain in Southern California, loading her grocery bags from her shopping cart into her SUV.

Fans Were Amazed to See Diana Ross Remember to Put Her Shopping Cart Back

Ross, 82, likely hoped to shop undercover, dressed in head-to-toe black with a surgical mask covering much of her face.

Some fans expressed disappointment that she was both recognized and filmed, including one who wrote in the comment section of TMZ’s social media post, “I’m pretty sure Diana deserves the ability to shop and not have to worry about paparazzi filming her.”

Others were thrilled to get a glimpse of Ross out in the wild, like the fan who commented, “Queen gotta nourish herself first. Shes an absolute legend and I pray to see her one day 🤞🏻”

Many fans noted that they were amazed the “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” songstress took the time to return her empty grocery cart to the store.

One admirer wrote, “She’s better than most people in LA….she returned her cart to the proper place 👏👏👏” while another gushed, “And she put the cart back …. What an icon ❤️”

“We love a considerate cart returning diva,” someone else wrote.

Diana Ross Has Over a Dozen Shows Planned This Summer

Ross is very rarely spotted out in public except for major appearances, like ringing in 2026 on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” or attending the 2025 Met Gala with her family.

But she’s not slowing down any time soon. Ross has already performed more than a dozen concerts across the U.S. in 2026, per USA Today, which reported that Ross has 18 number one hits to her name, a 2016 Presidential Medal of Freedom, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Supremes.

Ross, who went solo in 1970, has even more concert dates planned for her “Diana in Motion” tour this year, including two shows in Japan on May 23 and 25. Ross will then play three shows in Europe this summer — in Czechia, Belgium, and the UK — before kicking off a 10-city US leg of her tour in Connecticut.

In 2025, Ross told People, “I am very passionate about performing live. I love looking out at the audience and seeing faces and singing directly to them.”

To keep her voice in top condition to perform, she told the outlet, “I steam my throat. I drink hot tea with honey. I have a few breathing exercises. I’ve been very lucky not to have any vocal difficulties. Keep my fingers crossed always. I love what I do so I try not to hold any unnecessary stress. I meditate in the mornings, and I pray at night.
