“Euphoria” composer Labrinth surprised fans after sharing a cryptic message on social media suggesting he may be stepping back from the music industry. Variety reported that the Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated musician posted the statement on Instagram Thursday night, sparking concern and speculation among followers. A part of his statement read: “I’m done with this industry.”
The message quickly drew attention online as fans and fellow musicians reacted to the unexpected post.
Composer Helped Define the Sound of ‘Euphoria’
Labrinth has played a central role in shaping the sound of HBO’s hit drama “Euphoria” since the series debuted in 2019.
Created by Sam Levinson, the show helped propel actors such as Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi into global stardom. Labrinth’s haunting score and original songs quickly became defining elements of the series, helping set the emotional tone for many of its most powerful scenes.
Several tracks from the show resonated widely with fans, including “All for Us,” “Formula,” “Mount Everest,” and “Never Felt So Alone.”
The latter features vocals from Billie Eilish and went on to receive a Grammy nomination.
Hans Zimmer Joining ‘Euphoria’ Season 3
Earlier this year, it was announced that acclaimed film composer Hans Zimmer would join the creative team for the third season of “Euphoria.”
At the time, Labrinth expressed excitement about working alongside the celebrated composer.
“Another chapter in the ‘Euphoria’ universe!” Labrinth said in a statement when the news was revealed. “So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season. Love x.”
Season 3 of “Euphoria” is scheduled to premiere on April 12 and remains one of HBO’s most highly anticipated releases. Labrinth is currently signed to Columbia Records, which released his latest album, “Cosmic Opera Act 1,” in January.
Fellow Artists Share Support After Labrinth’s Post

Singer Kesha wrote, “Take care of your peace, my love. You are loved and supported.”
Songwriter Skylar Grey also shared encouragement for the musician. “Please don’t stop making music, the world needs you.”
Fans also quickly rallied around Labrinth in the comments, sharing messages of encouragement and appreciation for the music he created for “Euphoria.”
GettyOne supporter wrote, “You totally made Euphoria. Whatever it is, I know I’m on your side.”
Another added, “Euphoria won’t feel the same without your music🙌.”
Some fans said the composer’s work was a major reason they followed the series in the first place.
“This makes me not even wanna watch the show if the ppl who worked on it that I’m watching to support were not properly supported while giving it their all, I don’t even wanna indulge. It seems like behind the scenes, the whole cast is unhappy with how things went and with how they weren’t treated fairly. It’s sad. The show is what brought me to your music, so I’m grateful for that at least 💖,” one comment read.
Others voiced confidence in Labrinth’s future, with another fan writing, “You’re goated king. If you end up going independent, I’m sure every one of your listeners/fans will back you.”
For many viewers, Labrinth’s music has become closely tied to the emotional landscape of “Euphoria.” His atmospheric sound and original songs helped define the series from its earliest episodes.
Whether the post signals a significant shift in his career remains uncertain. What is clear, however, is the deep impact his music has had on fans and fellow artists alike.
