Jackson matriarch Katherine Jackson, 95, rarely makes her way into the spotlight, but when she does, it’s for her beloved family.
In support of Michael Jackson’s biopic, “Michael,” Katherine shared an evening with actor Colman Domingo, who plays her husband, Joe Jackson, in the film.
Katherine Jackson & Colman Domingo Share Rare Moment
Colman shared a sweet message for the famed mom on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, April 21, writing, “To receive her love and support is all I needed. We laughed and looked eye to eye and had such a lovely moment that night. Thank you to my dear Janice for making it happen. Thank you to the family that showed up and loved on us and our work. We made her happy.”
In the photo, Katherine was dressed in a beige-colored pantsuit with silver embellishments, while the “Selma” actor wore a black and white tux and bow tie.
A fan of the Jackson family shared a screenshot on Instagram of Colman’s kind words for Katherine’s approval of her son’s biopic. Many fans flocked to the comments to share how beautiful Katherine looked, while also agreeing that her opinion is the only one that should matter.
“Ms. Katherine has approved. That is all that matters 💝,” wrote one.
“Mom Katherine is so beautiful! 💞💐💞 God has blessed her with so many years so much wisdom and memories with her family ❤️🙏🏽,” said another.
“Whatever Mrs. Katherine say is what it is. She is the matriarch and queen mother. Mother Katherine is to be respected AT ALL TIMES!” stated a third.
While Katherine didn’t appear on the red carpet at the world premiere of “Michael” at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, April 20, her photo with Colman does suggest she was at the premiere or with him on the same day, as he’s wearing the same tuxedo in his red carpet photos as he is in the post to his Instagram Story.
La Toya Jackson Looks Stunning at ‘Michael’ Premiere
Many of the King of Pop’s family members showed up for the biopic’s world premiere, including siblings La Toya Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Marlon Jackson and Jackie Jackson. His eldest son, Prince Jackson, attended, as well as nephews Jafaar Jackson, Taj Jackson and TJ Jackson.
While speaking with ExtraTV on the red carpet, La Toya, 69, opened up about what she believes her brother Michael would think of the film if he were to be alive today.
“Just to see the love and the people that are here for him, it’s so, so magical,” La Toya said. “And I have to say, he would be so proud and so happy and so honored. So I know he’s looking down on all of us.”
La Toya also shared her thoughts on what it was like seeing her family’s life story unfold, including intimate moments at home as a child with her nine siblings.
“Seeing the story of your family in the beginning and my father, just making sure he instilled certain work ethics in them and making sure they did everything perfectly. And when you recall those days, it becomes emotional,” she explained. “And that’s basically what happened.”
“Michael” is scheduled to be released in theaters on Friday, April 24.
