Elton John had his fans worried after sharing a photo that appeared to show him bedridden in a hospital gown with glittering casts on his legs. The 78-year-old singer was also seen in a neck brace, surrounded by flowers and friends. Messages of concern poured in immediately. “Get better soon with the Favor of God, Sir Elton John,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Sending you love. Your music got me through a lot of dark times.”
Some even thought he had been admitted to the hospital. “ELTON DON’T SCARE US LIKE THAT,” one fan commented.
Singer Reveals It Was All for “Spinal Tap II”
It turned out the alarming images were staged. John revealed in his caption that the hospital scene was part of his appearance in the new sequel “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”
“Rocked too hard… ended up in a cast! Backstage with Spinal Tap,” he joked. He also confirmed he appears on the soundtrack, singing “Listen To The Flower People” and “Stonehenge.”
Behind-the-scenes clips showed cameras, film sets, and even footage of the rhinestone casts being removed. The hospital wasn’t real.
Mockumentary Returns With Star-Studded Sequel

The new sequel follows the band members reuniting for one last show after 15 years apart. The soundtrack includes several original songs along with John’s contributions.
